Users not receiving PM notifications via EMail

If you're not receiving PM notifications to your email, try the following steps:

1.) Check your junk-mail folder, and make sure the PM notifications aren't going there.

2.) If you're sure that the notifications are not being filtered by your spam filter, then follow these steps:

a.) Click on MY CONTROLS
b.) Click on EMAIL SETTINGS
c.) Make sure that "Send a notification email when I receive a new private message" is checked. If it's checked, then UNCHECK, click Amend my email settings. Then, go back and RE-CHECK the box, and click Amend my email settings. This will reset the notification setting.

3.) If you're still not receiving PM notifications, then make sure that you have the correct email address setup in your CP profile. If this doesn't work, then try using another email address.

I checked everything server-side, and there are no problems regarding this issue.

Interesting Rod. Just recently has this become an issue for me on yahoo. It does NOT go to spam, but only once in a while now do I get email notification of pms..... Dunno what would cause it but it is there. lol :)
 
I'm not getting the notifications for PM's or any subscriptions. Just got several PM's after updating again and still nothing. Mailguard folder is empty as well. Strange...
 
I never had a problem until today. Gary sent me a PM at 11:30 this morning that I never got a notification on. He sent me another one a couple of hours ago that I got a notification on so I dunno WTF is going on but once again, I ALMOST always get notifications except for the one earlier today.

Was there some kind of a glitch earlier today? ???
 
Just wondering if Yahoo is a common theme here. I haven't gotten email notifications in a while. Also, I tried to send a file to myself the other day, from one computer to another, and my own email to myself never showed up.
 
It's happening with Bellsouth as well. I lost a huge amount of PM's that I archived (I like to keep everything just in case :) ). Haven't received PM notifications or subscription notifications for some time now.
 
Checking to see if we got blacklisted... stand by...
 
I hadn't gotten any e-mail notifications until the past hour. I got ones from even a few days ago in the past few minutes. So whatever the problem was for me is fixed.
 
I need you guys to provide feedback asap. Are emails flowing again?
 
I got one for an old pm a little while ago. Someone send me a pm and I can check my email.

I hadn't received any e-mail notifications for a few weeks. However, I received e-mail notifications from two PMs that were sent last night just a few minutes ago.

Got a couple pm's, but as of yet no notification on my email. Which again is via Yahoo.

I found it odd that I wasn't getting PM notifications either. I looked in my spam folder and there were all my notifications. This is on Yahoo. It started about a week or so ago, was kind of odd because I never had problems getting them before.
 
I just reviewed the server logs and it appears there over 500 emails that are in queue. 95% of them are @yahoo.com. Seems Yahoo has decided to add us to their "ignore" list. I'm working to get us removed.

For those who are with Yahoo Mail, and are unhappy with the amount of spam you receive in your inbox, I highly recommend switching to gmail. I've been with gmail for a year now, and their spam filtering is amazing.
