Stumbled across this while searching humidors. Not affiliated nor know the seller. Just thought it was a odd one.

Who the hell donates illegal contraband to a school function?

I'm not saying they're real. It's very healthy to be skeptical of a deal seemingly "too good to be true". But thinking alone that they are fake does not in itself make them so. Sometimes, in some places, some people really do score major acquisitions on the cheap. Such is the fuel for the hopes and dreams of many art/antique enthusiasts.

I didn't bother looking up the other cigars/sizes listed in the auction, as I have no intent to bid on the lot.

Then your computer screen resolution is far superior to that of my laptop's. I only see distant and blurry cigars depicted. Enlarging their images only further blurs and distorts them to me. At best, I can only see that some bands are misplaced, perhaps a result of sliding down the length of their respective cigars. It's possible, as some bands may be tighter/looser than others. As to the bands and cigars themselves, they are nearly completely indistinguishable to me.

Again, I am not taking the position that they are real. I am curious, however, with such cursory product description and imagery, how it is you are able to discern they are fake. I am not trying to be rude here, but you infer from your post that you are able to see they are fake, but then offer up no criteria that you base your assessment on. That does not help educate the cigar community (me included  ). I merely wonder to myself what it is you see about them.

Very poor quality rolled cigars. Uneven feet. Questionable bands.

If you look back at other posts regarding how to tell fakes....you would have this information.

Now - does that mean they are 100% fake...and all fake...no.

From experience, these appear fake...and these guys are very experienced.

At least that's what Tim says!

I devote about 25% of my cigar research into being able to discern between genuine and fake Habanos.

In the cigars depicted in the auction lot, I cannot easily view their images. I cannot even glean a decent look at their wrappers to see if they are veiny. If you fella's can see them well, and well enough to authoritatively see for your own selves that they are fake, then more power to you.

You asked a question, I answered it.

Couple of observations.

1. Gary's insights hold alot of water, IMO. Even at their worst in the early part of this decade, latter part of the last, I've never seen Cohibas as poorly rolled as those appear to be.

2. Less subjectively, I'm not aware of any Cuban La Gloria Cubana that comes near the dimensions of the one in the picture. Actually, I suspect it's a Dominican, and likely a Serie R.

So are they all fake? I can't say with certainty. But there's enough there to convince me to stay far away from them.

And in the unlikely event that they are real, they seem to have been very poorly cared for.

One thing I can say... I did not see any obvious Cuban Dunhill band in any of the pictures in the auction. It could just be the shoddy picture, but I just don't see it.

Nor can I.

This seller is either woefully unlearned in Habanos or he is hoping for that characteristic in his bidders. The descriptions and depictions are shoddy at best. It is noteworthy that not all of the cigars even appear to be purported to be Habanos - including the La Gloria Cubana previously noted. If one looks at the product description, one can see that some are listed to be Cuban and some are not given that distinction. Also, this is part of the sale: "A. Fuente......three 6"". A Fuentes certainly do not fall within the Habano camp.

When I read "Authentic Cubans include:" with a long list after it, I would expect everything in that list to be Cuban, unless otherwise noted.
