Don Q RUM

Coming home from DR we stopped in PR and i bought a bottle of Don Q rum. Haven't opened the bottle as i'm saving it for a herf coming up. If you are familiar with it , please let me know. Thanks! :thumbs:

I have been to their factory outlet in San Juan, it is right by the cruise ship piers and is packed anytime a cruise ship is in town. They give free samples of just about anything you want to try, daiquiri's to rum and cokes to the anejo and better bottlings. This is where I first decided rum was actually pretty good after haivng just tried plain bacardi. I really like the aged anejo rums, neat or on the rocks. Don Q plain rum is pretty similar to Bacardi.

Bacardi loses more rum to evaporation than Don Q makes.

Which Don Q do you have? They make an Grand Anejo which is a tremendous sipping rum. The regular rum is better than bacardi, but that is faint praise.

Now i wish i had gone with the more expensive rum, this is the Don Q Crystale which is 80 proof. I'm sure my friends won't mind mixing it with their favorite concoctions. :laugh: I'll see what kind of mojito it will make. At the Miami airport they were making Bacardi mojitos and they were decent, i'll see how they taste.
