I've never been much of an Alec Bradley fan since I've started smoking but when I went to Myrtle Beach this past weekend, they only had one B&M. I picked up a few Padilla 1932 churchills and the proprietor turned me on to the Alec Bradley Tempus. Reluctantly I bought one and smoked it that evening on my balcony and was quit surprised. This was an extremely well put together cigar with a beautiful band and also a band at the bottom like the Camacho 10th anni. Very pleasing to the palette, volumes amounts of smoke, and razor sharp burn for the most part. I've long been a Padron whore as my everyday smokes, but I believe I've found a replacement. This has to have been one of the most enjoyable cigars that I've had in quite some time

To those of you that have yet to try one, this is a great cigar to try out. As a matter of fact, I'll send two of these out for you guys to try out IF you promise to do a quick but thorough review on them for others to see. All's I ask is that you been here a year so you can discern flavors and tastes, you smoke it with an open mind, and you have it smoked with pics and a review by next Wednesday. I'll send them out tomorrow so this will be plenty of time. I would like it graded on aesthetics, burn issues, taste/flavors, overall enjoyment. I really think you'll be impressed with these.

Haven't Been on here a year. But smoking cigars for 12 years. Be happy to review it with pics for ya...If not then thanks anyway

I just tried my first one a couple weeks ago. They are definitely one of the best, or probably the best, cigar that Alec Bradley has made. However, that is still a relative compliment. I think it is an ok cigar, not great but not bad. It has some nice flavors to it, but nothing really stands out. The finish is a little bland, but all around it is something I might even buy again. Maybe just once more though...... My .02

Maybe I got a bad cigar but that's why I bought two. I tried the Lancero a few weeks ago and was very disappointed. It had a really harsh flavor at the forefront and on the background was an excellent woody flavor that seemed like it would be nice if not for the horrible flavor that took over.

I have one more that's been resting for a few weeks so maybe I'll try it again and see how it goes. I may even get a few more of the other vitolas and try those before I totally give up on these.

Wow, an offer of free cigars.....I musta scared everyone away with the prospect of a review. :(

If you forgive my lack of qualification as specified by your one year rule, I would certainly write an honest review for you, in continuous prose or chosen poetic style :D.

LOL...you know the story about the refrigerator huh? The guy puts it outside his house with a "For Free"sign and it stands there for two weeks. He changes the sign to $50, wakes up the next
morning and someone has stolen it.

Gabriel sent me two of these sticks to sample. I smoked one and found it ok but that could have been due to insufficient down time, I'll light up the other and pay attention
seeing as you like it enough to post a short review.

Hope you enjoyed your break at Myrtle Beach. We actually by passed it on our way up the coast, too busy for us quiet folk. :whistling:

Jonesy,

I'm assuming you went to Nick's Cigar World in M.B. ? They have probably the best selection of smokes in this part of SC. If it wasn't Nick's I'd be interested to know where you went so I could check it out next time I'm down in M.B.

Thanks,

Bill

It was a little hole in the wall shop with a lounge, pool tables, etc. called the cigar House in Murrell's Inlet.

Greg, let me send you a different vitola for you to try out. The Lanceros burn pretty hot so that may have bee why you had a bad experience. LMK if you'd like to try this out.

Brian, I don't meet the year on the boards, but I'd love to try it, and I promise a review. We seem to have VERY similar tastes in cigars.

Edit: Apparently it earned a 94. Wow.

Only place I found it available online:

Jeff, we go back far enough where the year doesn't matter so I'd be more that happy to let you try one. I have the robustos, Churchill's, and torpedo's so let me know which vitola you guys prefer and I'll send one out. Remember that these are ~$7-$8 dollar sticks so don't expect them to knock your socks off, but be cognizant of the price when you do your review.

#1, I would be more than happy to hear your thoughts on this cigar. I know your taste in cigars so if you do decide to smoke the other one and jot down your thoughts, please keep an open mind!

Never heard of it... I'll have to check it out next time I'm over that way. :) Thanks!

Brian I'll take you up on the offer if no one else will. I was going to let someone else do it but since no one else has stepped up I'll play. I believe you have my address but if not it's in the profile.

Thank you very much!

edit to add I'll take a Robusto

The churchill did receive a 94 in Cigar Insider recently. I have smoked the corona, lancero and robusto, and have enjoyed them all. I did have one lancero with a burn problem, but I get that all the time on Opus, so I'll cut AB a little slack. \

This cigar is made in the Raices Cubanas factory in Honduras (where the Illusione is made). They are introducing a very nice looking perfecto due in stores about October 1st. I like 'em... just my .02.

Brian, I'm not sure if you have any of these available still...but I would love to do a write up on this cigar. I just recently had my eyes opened up to Alec Bradley through his Maxx line, so this is a wonderful opportunity to try out one of his new line. If I'm late, no worries brother. Thank you very much for the offer!

I picked up one of these about a month ago, but I hadn't smoked it either. The gent at the cigar shop spoke highly of them, but I too was skeptical. I'll give it a go this evening.
