"First of all I want to thank you for your interest for my car. I sell it at this price $5000 because i just finished the divorce with my husband. When the divorce has finished i own this car. Now as a women i don't need it. This car is in excellent working conditions, no scratches, flaws or any kind of damage, slightly used in 100% working and looking conditions and comes with a clear title.
From the beginning you have to know that for the payment I request only secure pay, I prefer the payment to be done using eBay services.
We will use a safe payment method because I am affiliated at eBay and I have a purchase protection account for $50.000. The final price that I want for this car is $5000 USD including shipping and handling.
If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name and address so I can initiate the deal through eBay.I will wait your answer(if you are interested to buy) very soon... here are more pictures "

Now...the truck is suppose to be in CT!

Hmmmm.

Seems ok to me. The letter is well written, and that protection service?! How can you top that?

:sign:

And for an additional $50,000, you can help me obtain several million dollars that has been unjustly stolen from my by the corrupt government of my homeland.

Uh huh.

And in this country, we call 'shipping and handling' a destination charge and dealers are usually the only ones who charge that.

Funny  , about maybe a year ago that same statement was used and I was quick to call up because, it was a great deal on a BMW M3. So I asked if I could come out to look at it and I was going to have someone with me that knew cars to make sure everything is good. But when I called she said "it is not possible, but I can assure you that you will get the car". Then continuing to tell me that, she will have it shipped though a private carrier to have the car at my door in the next week. I said, thank you but Im not stupid. She told me lol, suit yourself, you are missing out on a great deal. The very next day went back to CL and saw that the ad was taken down and flagged. So take it from me, pass up on this deal. If it is too go to be true, then its obviously to good.

David

Edit to add: btw Grateful1, your woman is back. Man I missed her bouncing boobs all weekend, I was worried she be gone forever. Giving me high blood pressure here.

I don't know that sounds like a good deal. I'm torn between that one and the one I got a few days ago.

Hmmmm.

I think you read this sales ad too many times, and it affected you at a subliminal level

Is this an out of the blue solicitation or did you really have an interest in the truck? There are a lot of automobiles sold through Ebay motors, so this isn't really an unheard of thing. You can ask her for the VIN number so you can do a carfax (or whatever it's called) lookup on the vehicle.

Or do the old "take a picture of it with today's paper" trick to prove she really has access to the vehicle.

If she balks at any of that, then you know it's a scam.

I told her I wanted to stop over and see it...as it's in my area...no response.

Not suprised you didn't get a response. Sounds like a scam.

I've sucessfully sold a car through ebay though. Guy paid $500 deposit through paypal, and brought a bank check for $4500 from indiana all they way up to michigan. I think you can tell a scam simply by how much the selling party is interested in communicating. I talked to this guy a few times over email and once on the phone before he purchased the car.

Wholly cow...I just got this:

The car is already at the shipping company in Columbus, OH sealed and ready for the shipping. The VIN is xxxxxxxxxxx. It has 71900 miles.I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them. I'm very busy with my job and I'm left out of the town so I can't meet in person with you so this is the reason why I chose to sell my car over the internet. According with the eBay you have 5 days from the time you receive the car to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not.My brother in law works at DAS,and he promised me that it will cost me nothing to ship it to you.
Here is how it will work:
1.First of all I will need the following details from you:
- Full Name
- Full Shipping Address
2. After I will receive the details from you, I will forward them to eBay.
3. After they will process your info, they will send us both invoices. The invoice will send you the details on how to make a refundable payment.
4. eBay will contact me and I will ship the car to you. After you receive the car you will have 5 days to test, verify and do whatever you need to the car. If you will buy, then I will receive the payment details from eBay so that I can pick up the money.
5. If you will decide that you will not buy the car, eBay will refund the money and I will have the shipping company come pick up my car. If you wish to make the transaction, please send me the necessary info so that we can proceed. I look forward to hear from you.
Thank you

I was looking at a car online that was $10,000 less than what the value was. I e-mailed the seller, and it turned out he said he was in AZ, instead of TN, and then he sent me an e-mail that says about the same as that one does above. Fuggin' scammers.

Sounds kinda fishy to me. Mine on the other hand, has to be legit. I mean seriously, this was in the paper not long ago, and how can I not help a grieving widow? How about whichever of us get his deal done first, buy Gary the truck?

MY DIRECT CONTACT TO YOU.

I am Mrs. Marina Litvinenko, wife of Alexander Litvinenko, a former Russian security officer who died in a London hospital after apparently being poisoned with the highly-toxic metal thallium by Mr. Lugovoi, a Russian Government Paid agent.

Your can read articles about my Husband's ordeal via the websites below:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6708103.stm
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/arti...d=1770&ct=5

Please I want you to assist my one daughter and three son and my humble self to remove USD$3.5M given to my husband before his death by Mr. Berezovsky, A Russian Billionaire Exiled in UK for exposing an alleged plot to assassinate him by the Russian Authority and to investigate the death of Anna Politkovskaya, a Russian Journalist believed to have equally been poisoned by the Kremlin for writing a book: The Putin's Russia: Life in a Failing Democracy depicted Russia as a country where human rights are routinely trampled.

The Funds are deposited with a financial firm in Asia and I will want to relocate these funds for investment in your region and with your assistance and advice.

As soon as I receive your response, I will furnish you with more details on this issue that is stressing me so badly. I do not mind drawing a business agreement with you.

Get back to me via my E-Mail: marinaedge5@msn.com

Best Regards,

Mrs. Marina Litvinenko.

I hit the same thing on Craigslist when I was looking for a motorcycle.

The dude wanted $2100 for a liter bike (can't remember what kind) two jackets, two helmets and a pair of gloves. He laid out a story about his Marine unit being shipped to Iraq in two weeks and needed to get rid of it quick because he didn't have a place to store it. I asked him if I could look at it, and when he found out that I was close enough to actually go see the bike, he changed his story to say that he had brought it with him to TN and he could have it shipped by Army truck to wherever in the US for free.

At that point, I quit asking because the story just kept getting fishier.
