Check out the bonehead Yankees again....82.5 million for AJ BURNETT?!

Check out the bonehead Yankees again....82.5 million for AJ BURNETT?! Gimme a friggin break. This one smells worse than Pavano's contract.

Yeah, I was scratching my head at that one, too. He's had a history of injuries and I believe he's only won more than 12 games in a season once. Even the Sabbathia deal boggles my mind. He's a great pitcher but it's a big gamble signing a pitcher to a longterm deal like that. I guess everyone else is in a recession, except the Yankees.

Derek Lowe signs with Atlanta, 4 years, $60 million. Not cool. If he's not coming to the Mets, couldn't he at least stay the hell out of the NL East?

Four years is way too long for a 35+ year old pitcher. I think Atlanta over paid, can you say Mike Hampton? I think the Mets wanted Perez all along, with Wolf as insurance. We will see as Perez and Lowe are both Boras clients.

I want to see what happens to Cassel especially if Brady doesn't come back next year. Also Varitek is an interesting twist.

Minaya did the right thing. He offered Lowe a more than reasonable contract. Lowe and Boras thought they can get more out of the Mets but the Mets didn't budge. So they found another sucker....ATL.

Perez is a more feasible option and worth the money.
