Did anyone get the email from Atlantacigar? They are advertising a 20 bundle of Decade Toro for 89.95. I am assuming there is no box, but it still seems to good to be true.

Any opinions out there? I have never purchased from this retailer.

Thanks for the input, im going to jump all over that 89.95 20 ct bundle of Decade Toro. Any reason why they would not come in a box?

Cheaper for all parties involved. Cheaper for Rocky to produce as he doesn't need to pay for the box, cheaper for the retailer & probably leaves them a tad more room for inventory & less shipping charges...ect ect.

Thanks
So manufacturers purposely sell smokes to retailers this way? They sell sealed boxes and I am guessing bulk loose cigars?

I'm not in the cigar business (I wish I were), but from what I've gathered is that certain cigars and certain manufacturers will bundle their cigars, to make them cheaper for all parties involved. Its like a gas station having a "travel" size thing of toothpaste for example. Its another way for each business to make a sale.

Most popular way to sell cigars is either in boxes or bundles. In this case the manufacturer is choosing to "bundle" the cigars...AKA: put them together and cellophane them into one brick.

Thanks

When the Decades was a hot cigar, Rocky was short on boxes. I took in several bundles, since boxes weren't available. But the bundles, as far as I remember, came in bundles of 25, not the 20 in the box. It was the same price as the box, though. basically, they were giving 5 more cigars, in lieu of a box.

Isy,

Is that rare for this to happen? I remember that Devil's Weed went to bundles & lowered their prices as well...you think it's a box issue or more towards what I was hinting at in my previous post?

PS: Thanks for the insight.

Aaron,

I think it could be both, depending on the company. I would assume that Devil's Weed went to bundles in order to lower their prices, but I can't speak for them. It sounds like a reasonable thing to do. Rocky, however, was actually short of boxes. They gave the retailers an incentive to take bundles, being that 5 of the cigars were free. Remember, they were the same price as the box. If I would have told them boxes instead of bundles, I would have had to wait. Since I had empty Decade boxes, I figured I'd just place the cigars in the boxes. Meanwhile, I had an additional 5 cigars that I was able to use as samples for my customers.
