Okay, as I have recently been the recipient of some great cigars I've decided to throw out a little contest to clear some room for new inventory and to let some fellow newbies try out some cigars they might normally not have. These are not premium sticks but in my mind they smoke well and taste better than a few of the cigars that I've spent $10-12 for.

Only members who have joined since the new year and with less than 100 posts can compete.

1) You must list and define the 5 forms of Asshattery and post where you received your information. (Though there are various sources to find this information I am looking for one, and only one which should be easy to find :whistling: )
2) You must list the 13 DONT'S of cigarpass which again should be fairly easy to find.

Best of luck!

Kyle

Edit to say: Copy/Paste is your friend on this one :whistling:

Seems as though not many of the new kids around here have been reading up when joining at CP. I will make two revisions to the contest: 1) You can have more than 100 posts 2) You can phone-a-FOG for help. I would prefer that the FOG just give you a hint to look in the right direction rather than giving you the answer straight out. Come one newbies, show these FOGS that we read up when we join.

I only found 12 DONT'S (But I made one up for ya!)

I did not see this post till today! stupid work taking all my time :(

The Troll
The Troll is someone who just likes to stir things up. They will do this in a number of different ways. Sometimes they will start flame wars (pointless arguments) with established members. Also, Trolls will often start numerous pointless threads that clutter up the board. They will also keep their own pointless threads going for as long as they can. In essence, Trolls attempt to intentionally draw the ire of the other members of the board for their own entertainment. Trolls don't usually go away on their own, so they get banned, often from multiple boards.

The Attention Whore
The Attention Whore is someone who is a classic "Look at me!" person. They way too often post pics of themselves and their possessions. (It's not bad form to post pics of your stuff, but these people take it to the extreme) They claim to have been everywhere and done everything. When they feel ignored, they get louder. Attention Whores will usually go away after being labled as such and called out publicly.

The Post Whore
The Post Whore is someone who thinks that post count = reputability. Therefore, they post incessantly about nothing to drive up their post count. Most of the time, people are called Post Whores in jest, however the real Post Whores can be incredibly irritating. After Post Whores get called out, they usually straighten up or become Trolls.

The Mooch
The Mooch is someone who is always actively trying to get bombed. Most of the time, they'll show up in an Introduction forum and give some sob story about not being able to afford good stuff, "but I'll smoke what I can." A lot of mooches will make up stories about being a veteran, disabled, recently unemployed, etc., so the members will feel sorry for them and send them a package to cheer them up. The FOGs can spot a mooch a mile away. Many mooches turn into Scumbags if they have success with their mooching, often turning around and selling the cigars that were gifted to them. The true Mooches are content to remain so, and thus very hard to get rid of.

The Scumbag
The Scumbag is the worst of the Asshats. Scumbags rip off other members in trades, passes, and buy/sell transactions. They intentionally try to profit from the members of the board. Scumbags sometimes sell cigars for way more than they paid for them. The also like to knowingly sell/trade/pass fake ISOM's. Scumbags aren't usually "officially" banned from a board because they don't have to be. The pressure from the other members and the constant public exposure will drive them from a board. They are also followed from board to board in order to prevent them from ripping off other people.

DONT'S:

1) NEVER discuss sources on CigarPass. Sources are defined as company's who sell Cuban cigars. Cuban cigars are illegal in the United States. Please keep this type of communication private.
Always know which forum you're posting in. Example: don't post a Want/Sale in the Lobby. We want to ensure all information is well organized, so please post appropriately.

2) Don't flame another member.

3) Don't discuss politics, religion, or any other "touchy" subject. CP is the place to get away from all of the nonsense; we're here for a good time, not to debate one another.

4) Don't get involved in any controversial conversations. There are times when trolls enter CP, let the more established members handle the trolls.

5) Don't get defensive if an established member points out a mistake you're making. They're here to help you along, not criticize you.

6) Don't "bump" old threads. If a thread is more than a year old, then there's probably no need to post to it. There are exceptions, please use your best judgment.

7) Don't try to increase your post count. Post count means nothing. The reputation you build is what matters.

8) Don't start a Cigar Pass right away. First, make sure you are well aware of the rules of a Cigar Pass.

9) Don't join a Cigar Pass right away. We want everyone to enjoy Cigar Passes, but we also want to protect all of our members. Once in a while someone will do a Newbie Pass; this is designed for all of the new guys to get their feet wet.

10) Don't try to do a group buy right away, join a couple before hosting your own.

11) Don't make your first post a "Sale" or "Want" ad. Get to know the community before making such a post.

12) Don't constantly use foul language.

13) Don't skip reading the Intro fourm & rules (Not sure if this is the 13th one I could not find the real one :( )
