I completely understand why newbies can't buy or trade cigars but why they can't put up a want to buy ad doesn't seem quite right. If I put up a want to buy ad up you have to pay first which would cause no problems. Thanks for any answers

I did do a search and failed to find anything...

I didn't know we sold or traded newbies!

I don't know if you'll get a lot for them....but try the newbie sampler trade!

I completely understand the no newbie for sale or trade ads but the no wanted to buy ad allowed doesn't quite make sense to me. If I put up a want to buy ad and someone wanted to sell what I was looking for, I would have to pay first before they shipped.

Oh yea, if you see a sale....you can buy.

Wow, I had to read that as many times as I did this to try and make sense of it:

I would think the answer lies in determining whether someone is here to become part of the community, or just to find rare and hard to find sticks. The four month/active member rule in part accomplishes this.

Good answer.... Makes sense to only want to sell to the CP family
Thanks

You can buy from a tenured member, but don't be offended if you are asked to send your end first.

I have already found great use in the fs ads. I have bought a few items but I can't wait for the 4 months to be up so I can ask for exactly what I would like to buy and not have to miss out on a deal in the fs section.

A quick aside, remember that the F/S threads are by people, not businesses. They have the right to personally chose who they sell to. If they don't like selling to newbs, they don't have to. Don't take offense, just move on and keep looking for the sticks you want.

Just wait until you are able to purchase in the For Sale section and you blow your cigar budget for the year in one month. Then you'll be back to reading the for sale ads and group buys and wishing you could jump on a cigar purchase. I promised myself I wouldn't buy anymore until I had a CC paid off and it's killing me reading the marketplace section daily.

Take a look through here then. It takes some digging to find some stuff, but it will answer your question better than anyone of us can:

HAHA!!! I didn't set a cigar budget yet because I know that I could never stick to it right now!
