Well - The Pens have been on a roll. I think this will be a great Stanley Cup final series.

I will take the first two post in this thread for a premium 5'r bet on the series.

I am sure I will eat these words, but I can actually see a sweep by Pgh. Detroit is really banged up, and Pgh is playing at the top of their game. There - I have laid out the kiss of death for the Pens.

Games start Saturday night on NBC.

I am not going to take the bet BUT are you drunk right now? A sweep of Detroit? Not going to happen. Even without Pavel and Lidstrom they are still one hell of a team.

Being a Stars fan I cannot stand the Wings, primarily because they always kick our ass. That being said.. GO PENS! This should be a great series.
 
Well, so much for my sweep theory. Pittsburgh certainly played well enough to win, but the bottom line is they lost. Fleury had a terrible game. He put two pucks in his own net. You just can't do things like that against a team like Detroit. Tonight's game is critical for Pittsburgh if they want to have any chance to win the series.

Good game last night. That game was not Fleury's best work either. The Pens are making it interesting, but they are not getting many breaks.

We'll see what happens when your boys get home.

Good teams make breaks. Yes the Pens have played well enough to win both games, but the bottom line is they are down 0-2. Detroit is so damn fundamental it makes me sick. They are like a well oiled machine. That said, I still have faith in my Pens. I know the odds are against them, but somebody has to defy them.

I am hoping to get a call with a ticket for game # 3. :whistling:

Hell, I didnt think the Wings played very well. I would love to see Pavel back.
 
That was a great game last night for the home team. Maybe, just maybe, the mighty Red Wings are wearing down. The series is now a best of 3. Saturday should be another must see hockey game.

Saturday is the biggest game of the Pen's season...

Detroit is red hot at home and looking to rebound after 2 tough losses...

Im predicting a blow out on Saturday..


Series 4 - 2 Detroit.

If Staal and Crosby are now going after last night's game it might be 2 and done in the Pens favour. Osgoode's looking a little off (though on that Kennedy goal he had NO hope). What a great series it's turning into.
 
I didn't care much for the game last night. :( Wings were totally outplayed in the 2nd. At the risk of sounding bias, was that "slash" on Crosby in the 3rd a gold metal quality dive or what?
