OK I still need some people to chime in on their preferred draft date. Here is what we got so far.


Doc Wylie: 8/29 or 9/5
Jonesy: 8/28-8/30
Nashkicker: any weekend
Garlic Breath: computer pick
Friggame: any weekend
TPC: Any day BUT 8/29 and 8/30
Smokintexas: weekends
MX: auto draft

So far the only common date that seems to work, expect for Jonesy, is 9/5. Brian is 9/5 no good for you?

nah, I don't see Tyler being much more than a 6 pt/ 4 reb bench player....we did win the championship though, so it's kinda hard to talk shit about my Tarheels right now!

I could be wrong, but after looking at the list, it seems because I can't do 8/29-8/30, its kinda on me as well. I don't want to bow out (already having done so in another league today :/) but I will if it makes getting this going easier.

I'm sure some other league will pop up around here that I can beat you all in anyways. LOL

I understand my son just picked the wrong weekend to be born! lol. You should have seen it that year...I went from him being born the night before the draft, going to the hospital the next morning for a bit, then back to my house to run the draft, then back to the hospital..then back..you get the picture. Was a crazy weekend

I usually do just as well with computer picks, so whatever date is chosen for the draft is fine with me. If I can do it live, fine..if not, no problem.

This is going to be a pain for our brother's on the West Coast, and for us, for that matter.

The later we have the draft the later I get to bed, and I have to get up at 0400 every day :whistling: ...

On the other hand, if we go too early our West Coastians won't be able to attend. I really think a weekend draft will suit us all a little better, considering the time difference.

At the risk of losing you as friends, I believe the problem is really quite simple. We arn't kids anymore and we don't see through kids eyes. When we were, we wore capes, put trading cards on our bikes for a motor and thought Buck Rogers was amazing. Now we work and moan about that, we issed because we can't legally buy cubans and we spend our time looking for that perfect stogie while spending a ton of money to find it (not that the search isn't worth the effort). Kids see through different eyes and pretending is part of the game.

And for one last remark, for a lady who dreamed this up in her head, her billions speak reams. Our approval wasn't needed. They said it all.

Now, will someone chat with me so I can begin to understand about cigars.

Wow... You're just having a hard time understanding hammered home statements lately.

The point I'm making is simple: If we start our draft to late over here, some of us won't be able to stay for the entire thing; if we start to early, the West Coasters won't be off work yet or will just be getting off work.

That's why I say the weekend is perfect because time is a non-issue, unless plans have already been made on their part...

If you guys want to do like 10 pm eastern, then sunday the 30th would be ok for me....i don't think it would take that long, and i am usually up till midnight most nights anyways...

12 people, 12 opinions....my opinion, throw out a date and time David. Those that can't make it, oh, well, can't please everyone all the time. I think a Saturday around 8 pm EST is the best for all. This way it's not too late for the East Coast guys and not too early for the others. It's on a Saturday where most are off and far ahead enough to rearrange plans or make plans for this. You'll never ge all 12 of us in total agreement on a time and date, so just set one for us to plan on being there or setting up autodraft.
