I'm a computer know-nothing kinda guy so I figured some of you guys that are computer wizards might be able to help me out. I use two systems diagnostics programs on my home computer...Windows Live One Care for the in depth diagnostics and virus scanning, and Advanced Windows Care V2 Personal for the quick clean ups. I was having problems with the computer the other day ( a window opened up labeled "SVC Host" that gave a message something to the effect of "an OS something has failed" and gave me a red circle with an x in it) so I ran my in depth diagnostics tests. Nothing came up so I ran the AWC V2 to see if anything came up. After the scan and fix was complete, I was still showing 8 problems in the "startup scan" section that manages the Windows startup items. I viewed the details and there was a list of like 20 things that had boxes next to them that were either checked or not checked. So, thinking the things that were checked were the problem items ( things I didn't recognize) I moved them to the "ignore list". Well, I think that the things that weren"t checked actually got moved for some reason and now I can't get my wireless keyboard to work. I've tried taking the keyboard item out of the ignore list, restored the computer to different dates over the past month, plugged in a regular wired keyboard into the back of the computer, and nothing is working. My computer isn't recognizing the keyboard anymore for some reason, or when Windows starts up, it's not enabling the keyboard now. It's driving both my wife and myself crazy because if we want to get on the computer, we have to use our son's that is in his room.
Hopefully, I've given you guys enough info and any help in resolving this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Brian
