What are the most expensive cigars you buy regularly?

I realize this topic is noobish in nature but I'd really like to know what are the most expensive cigars the forum members buy on a pretty regular basis. Mr. Peat smokes $15 Opus' on a regular basis and I know many of you go through boxes of Siglos pretty steady, and those arn't cheap by any stretch. I've bought some expensive cigars off forum members such as a small assortment of Opus X's, PAMs and 1926's but in almost all cases those are the first time I've purchased those particular lines or vitolas. This issue boils down to the toss up between the cost of a cigar against how enjoyable it is and I realize some people are willing to pay more for certain flavors while others aren't. I took a look at my box purchases and I top out at about $10/stick; I've enjoyed more expensive smokes but never purchased more of 'em.

So to re-state the question, "what is the most expensive cigar you smoke on a regular basis?" Where is your personal limit on what is reasonable for something you'd smoke more frequently than once a year?

For me it's probably Opus X and Padron annis. I probably buy close to the equivalent of a box of Opus a year, and probably a dozon Padrons each year.

For the record, there is no such cigar as a PAM 1926...those are two separate lines. For me, it's the Padron 1926 Serie. That, to me, is the most enjoyable line of cigars I've ever smoked. If I had to pick one vitola, it would be the #2 maduro.

I don't know what you're talking about. :whistling: :D Lol, j/k, fixed. Thanks.

Im going to go with Jonesy on this one.... Mine would be the Padron 26 or the Padron 64, any size. Cant seem to get enough of them.

In addition to Opus and Padron I am a sucker for Zino Platium Crown series - especially the Emporer Edition. They run about $23 before taxes. Also like some of the robust Davidoffs.

Time prohibits me from smoking a ton anymore so I pretty much smoke what strikes me. I really honestly don't exercise much judgment or logic when I choose what I am going to smoke on a given day either. I have noticed that I tend to smoke my best shit on Tuesdays, for some strange reason. I know that isn't exactly what you are asking but it sort of gets at the question. Basically if I have it, I will smoke it. I would also rather have a handful of very good smokes rather than boxes upon boxes of mediocre rockets. To give you an idea, in the last two months I have smoked more than usual and I have had erm....a couple of parti shorts, a johnny o poker run, couple of standard opus/padrons 1926, Davi Millennium Lancero, an opus maduro lancero, opus shark, Monte 2000 EL, HU Super Corona, Dunhill Cab., Boli Lancero RE, CF Lancero, Don Carlos Lancero. Other than the Johnny o and the Monte 2000 I have more left of these and would smoke again within a year without feeling dirty.

I smoke Anejo's and Opus X. But I also smoke Padron 1926's and HTF Opus X aka CFCF boxes. :) Other than those and some LFD, I seldom smoke outside that circle of cigar brands. I'm a cigar snob by choice. :p

God of Fire, definitely. I don't always have them on hand, but probably go through at least 2-3 boxes (of ten) a year.

Anytime Opus X comes up and I've got cash on hand, I buy them too, but the GOF purchases are more planned, and more regular. A lot depends on what someone considers "expensive," though---the San Cristobal Fabuloso, for example, is a $9-10 dollar smoke by the stick (a good deal less, of course, if one waits for a really killer box sale and loads up) and became my "go-to stick" the first time I lit one up.

I can't really afford to smoke $10 cigars all the time, but I've discovered I just flat don't care, lol. They're just too damn good NOT to.

I'm right in the same boat as you Phil (only my stock isn't up to par with yours). I usually only have 2-3 cigars a week max, and some weeks I only get 1 in, so I've really start going for quality over quantity. I keep most of my cigar bands in an empty box, and a few weeks ago I sorted through roughly my last years worth of bands and realized that most of them were pretty good quality cigars. I'm at the point that I would rather smoke good stuff less often, than a lot of average, or below, cigars.

Price isn't a factor for me. I can afford what I enjoy. A CFCF box of 22 cigars is $950 + $10 shipping generally. So if you break down the price per stick its $43.636 per cigar. In reality, I personally don't use them to equate the average price per cigar of that box. Simply because they are common and can be had 4 times a year. The CFCF 2009 is 17 special/rare while 5 is common line. I now calculate $960 divide by 17 which equals $56.47 and this is the general formula I use to break down the costs of a box.

Now some is actually worth more than others in reality but that is just semantics in my view of the box. As I collect them to simply smoke. This year I picked up 4 or 5 CFCF 2009 boxes for sure. maybe more...I just can't keep track of them all. Only 2 or 3 are left. As you can see I'm willing to cough up the $$$ if I think the cigars is worth it. Now that I am buying this Honda CR-V, it means I have to start saving ahead if I still want to get 4 or 5 CFCF boxes a year. Well for the next 22 months I have to do this. After that, I am free and clear once again to buy as many cigars as I want and smoke them.

Dude, where do you work and are they hiring?

Davidoffs, especially the Sir Winston line. You can tell how newb a newb is by the way he complains about the price.

Doc.

I am a huge fan of the millennium blend but I haven't had more than one of the Sir Winston line. Which size do you recommend?

They're all good. The Blenheim was my first and favorite.

I've got Opies and Anejo's down for a nap, so I don't buy them regularly anymore. If a great deal pops up, I'll snag 'em but not regularly.

I can't seem to keep away from the high end Padron smokes. 45ths and 80ths are a weakness......:whistling:

Most everything else I smoke is solid "mid range" smoke, Pepins, Padrons, Tat's, Illusione, etc....
