My name is Cooper Wright, I'm in Mesa, Arizona (part of the greater Phoenix area), and I'm a full time Doctoral student at Arizona Student. I'm married, have no kids, and run a small business on the side of my studies. You can google my name and "oboe" and see I have a pretty strong internet presence when it comes to all things oboe.

I'm a classical musician, and play in a lot of the local groups. I periodically sub in the Phoenix Symphony among many others in the area, and am on track to finish my Doctorate in 2013. I will be looking for professorships once I finish my degree.

I started smoking cigars in 2011 because my professor smokes a lot of them, and I always loved the smell as I sat around him. I was an on-again/off-again cigarette smoker, but after I started smoking cigars, cigarettes just tasted like death and chemicals, so I quickly rid myself of such items.

I grew up in Oregon, moved to Michigan, Boston, back to Michigan, over to Korea for a good long while, back to Oregon, and now have settled and bought a house here in Arizona.

I'm a big sports fan, and follow the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Pistons (I was a bad boys fan when I was a kid, Something about Bill Laimbeer and his whining just rang true to me), the Portland Trailblazers, and the New York Mets (was there anything as miraculous as being 6 years old and watching that ball go through Buckner's legs?) My sports teams seem to be on hard times, but at least the Red Wings are relevant every year. Oh yes, and then there's the University of Oregon Ducks. (QUACK QUACK)

I'm really excited about this concept of a Cigar Pass, and can't wait to jump into one. Feel free to ask any more questions if you want to know more about me personally.

UPDATE 10/22/12
I'm moving to Korea to be with my wife to take care of her during her cancer treatment. Not sure how many cigars I'll be able to get over there, but I'll try to keep up the hobby.

My favorites:
Ramon Allones Specially Selected
Padron 85th Maduro, Padron 45th Maduro
Flying Feral Pigs
Diplomaticos no. 2
RyJ Short Churchills
PSD4s
Quesada Octoberfest
Nosotros (Yes, I know they're discontinued. sadly).
Opus X
H Upmann Mag 46

Everyday great cigars:
Padron 2000 nats
La Aroma de Cuba
Ortega Serie D Maduro robusto
Warlock
Fuente 858 Sungrown
La Duena
MF Sungrowns

Cigars I'm drooling to try:
Montecristo #2 (Thanks Yellowsmoke!)
Casa Magna Oscuro Robusto (Thanks Pugman)
Diplomaticos #2 (Thanks TheChenMan!)
Johnny O's (Bought)
Bolivar Gold Medal (Bought)
Partagas Series P (ThanksTheChenMan!)
RASS (bought)
PLPC (bought)
Vegas Robaina no. 2
H Upmann Sir Winston

Cigars I dislike:
LFDs - They're just too strong in strength for some reason. If you ever decide to play an instrument, don't choose the oboe. It's a nightmare. I wake up living it every day...
