    Today's Smoke II

Hoyo De Monterrey Dark Sumatra I've had resting for a month. Not sure on the size, maybe 5.75x54. This cigar fits under the buttery, oily, nutty taste category. Edit: Decent cellphone pic

Contest: How many cigars in my Coolidor?

I remember winning a jelly bean guessing game, never a cigar one. My guess would be 131.

    What did I just smoke?

The other day while I was at my local B&M, the owner recommended the Churchill he was smoking and for under $2 I bought it. I ended up liking the cigar and now need to know where it came from. I scanned the bar code with my phone and got this: Churchill by hoyo seconds Edit: Maduro wrapper

keeping a cigar after cutting it

I'm curious to know whether or not storing a cut cigar is better than storing a non-cut cigar. I would think both ends being cut would allow for better flow of air in a humidor, and even lower time needed to rest an over humidified cigar.

So have you ever found yourself saying.....

Well, unfortunately I was still enjoying it when I let it go out (I consider that not finished). I actually started to feel bit nauseous, I decided to kill it before I really felt bad. That was probably it. Other than the occasional no smoke draw, the Olivia was worth every penny. As for...

So have you ever found yourself saying.....

I don't think I can finish the cigar. I know crazy right. Well today I found a new tobacconist, with two walk in humidors. The prices are great and so is the selection, So, I bought an Olivia serie V Double Robusto and a AF chateau fuente maduro; all for under $10. I got home at around...

    Getting Warmer.

I am getting really close to finding my kind of cigar. I started out with a Padron 5000, I then moved down to a Nub Connecticut and after a whole days work in the yard yesterday I decided to pull out the AF Short Story. I sat down, clipped the cap and cut a little piece off of the foot and...

    My very first Cigar.

Well I over payed for the Short Story unfortunately, but it was at a local place and I got a bunch of free boxes/coffins. I might smoke it tomorrow or later this weekend.

    My very first Cigar.

When I said chew I don't mean gnawing on the thing like a dog on a bone. I was just writing a paper at the time, so let's just say I could have kept it drier. The problem was this, the padron was far too spongy and it also had a wind tunnel through it. I felt the cigar was burning hotter than...

    My very first Cigar.

I've been busy, but I'm back for the update. I cut off the cap, tested the draw, toasted the foot, and gave it a few puffs; I was greeted to light sweetness my first couple of draws. The sweetness was not long lasted, but was followed by a light ,but crisp spice on the lips and tongue. After...
