Question - have you got a humidifer on your furnace?
I noticed that after I turned on my humidifer and put a new pad, my humidors stabilized at 68%...
Before I was strugging to get them above 60%.
guys - got a box of H. Upmann vintage Robustos (the kind with the oak wrapper)
Anyway - opened the first cigar and there were several small circular brown spots on the wrapper - not holes but light brown spots.
I did not put them in the humidor but left them in the box for now until I hear...
A good friend came over last night and gave me a humidor. It is a beautiful Dunhill humidor that has two levels for cigars (looks like it could fit about 50-75) and has three water tubes on the right side.
It has a big hygrometer on it's lid that screws in and a lock on the outside.
I would...
it's most likely the house. New homes are built with wet wood and the drywall/tape/paint they use just adds to the humidity level. It takes some time (about a year) to dry out (that's partially why you get nail pops and cracks in new homes)
180sx,
Some one on one of the forums pointed me in the direction of some web sites that had some pretty good samplers for good prices. Factory direct Cigars is one that looked like they had some pretty good brands in their samplers for a good price. Might be something to check out...
Noob here. My instructions for my new 25 ct tells you to wipe down with a new sponge and distilled water, then leave the sponge in the humidor for 12-24 hours.
Trying to be patient here... :whistling:
