Yeah, using distilled water. I think I might have gotten a stick that was starting to turn and it got into the wood somehow.

Humi has an Osh-Kosh humidifier in a ceder box. I fill it w/distilled water every 6mths. Open the box at least once a week to check temp and humidity. Have had a problem keeping humidity below 70. Been thinking it's time to switch to climaxx beads.

Just my two cents. I got a cooler from Wal-Mart for $16, some spanish ceder from Home Depot for about $20, heavy duty velcro $8. Cut the wood and lined the cooler w/it using the heavy duty velcro. Got a huge brick of oasis foam from the local hobby and craft store. Made my own 50/50 juice...

Those beads. Are they like Drymistat tubes? Currently I use an Oshkosh humidifier and I find that it will keep things between %65-75 with the average being about 70. Do the beads or tubes provide better stability?

Ok, I just read a thread about keeping cigars at 65% relative humidity. Everything that I have read says 70%. What are the benefits of the lower humidity? Wouldn't this dry out the tobacco and make it burn faster? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I was going to try the Pimp Stick. I'm on a kick right now for anything by Drew Estates. My current favorite is Spice. You do have to be in the mood though. Blondies are fun especially after riding for a while.
