What's Your Latest Purchase 2025

That’s crazy, John! What were the key things you looked for to authenticate it?
Hey Gavin!
I want to weigh in on this question, but I'd like you to expand on why you asked it? Please be honest, as I hope you know I can take constructive questioning/criticism. 🙂

Just wanted to learn a bit more about it. I know you know your stuff, so wasn’t questioning anything, just wanted free training from the master.

Actually, I have had some red flags pop up, and I'm questioning the authenticity myself. I was kind of hoping you were there as well and wanted to hear your input. The seller is someone I've been dealing with for years now, so I've become a bit complacent with researching before I pull the trigger.

Hopefully, my last post quoting yours didn't come across as me being defensive.

No, it’s just an area that would be scary for me. I think like most of us, I rely on the basics to authenticate: trusted source, does it comform to what the books call for as far as band/warranty seal/box code, triple seam cap, etc. That kind of item is not in El Habano Moderno, or CCW, so I’d be without one of my authentication comfort blankets. If I can add some more tools to my toolbelt with that kind of item, I’d like to. I did a quick google on ‘Jose Gener’ and ‘Alfonso’, and all that leaps out at me is someone selling those bands on ebay, which I don’t love, but that’s as far as I went.

Those 2 stores are where it is at. I’d recommend anyone going to Charleston to start with either of their locations before visiting other shops- unless you want the unique experience of Lianos Dos Palmas.
Yes they are awesome and the workers were great. Even gave me a discount for being a paramedic. I stopped by Kings Leaf..... The most unfriendly place I have ever been just bc I didn't walk in with a 3 piece suit on. They were extremely overpriced also. Love Lianos been going there for years.
