    Today's Smoke 2026

Padron 3000 Maduro. What looks like a nasty vein, on close inspection, shows where a vein was pulled out. Not awesome cosmetically, but the cigar burned like a champ and smoked great. Solid if not beautiful sticks, flavor worthy of the Padron name. No complaints, it was a very nice smoke, if not...

    Time for a rule change..?

IMHO, sharp eyes and an attentive membership is the best answer. As I said, I've seen cases where one or two word posts were used to get the count up. But, having clear rules posted is the key to making it all work.

    Time for a rule change..?

....I'd like to see an update on the mandatory minimums for buying / selling. Something in the rules the members can refer folks to. Since we indeed are a community, an into thread and a year / 100 posts doesn't seem crazy for a buying requirement. One man's opinion....

    Time for a rule change..?

...buying may be different. Maybe. If a guy wants to buy, wants to build cred, sends his end first...seems reasonable. Maybe 6 mos / 50 good posts to buy, 12 mos / 100 posts to sell. Maybe. Thinking out loud.... Edited to add....intro thread mandatory seems good, and of course every sale gets...

    Time for a rule change..?

Checked the computer forum I used to help with and their rule is clear: The FSFT forum has its own set of specific rules and has a required 100 post minimum to participate. FSFT is for contributing members. Maybe we do four months and 50 meaningful posts...?? Or...??

    Time for a rule change..?

I was an admin on a very big computer forum for a decade or so. They had a similar rule, and this scenario most certainly did happen, as the 'For Sale' section on this forum moved very quickly. Easy to spot 'post stuffing' and we simply deleted one or two word posts / replies that fell under...

    Time for a rule change..?

Good thoughts, Rod. We have a very smart, very aware membership, with some very market aware folks watching from the sidelines. I'd suggest people can charge what they want. If they're out of line, no one will buy. If they're crazy, they'll get lit up by the membership. Seems fair to me. Only...

Is there a V-Cutter you prefer to Xikar?

I've got the Xikar and the Colibri. Both cut like razors; the Colibri takes a hell of a bite out of the end of the cigar, while I find the Xikar is just about perfect. As they say, one man's opinion.....

    Cigar Deals

The Fabrica5 guys are at it again: ....with an 'interesting' twist: ....so, only the first three bundles, per order, count for the 30% off. Huh, wonder what made them make that change..... They seem to do this every 90 days or so, but it's still a good deal.

Is there a V-Cutter you prefer to Xikar?

Here are the tools that live in my little cigar tool box; no big surprises here. The OG Xikar and Palio cutters were gifted to me decades ago by a long time CP member, no longer with us. Makes them touchingly special to me, think about him every time I use them. All cut like razors, never an...

    Today's Smoke 2026

Busted a saved bundle of these today. Man..is this the best cigar of all time..?? Maybe. Spicy, but not too spicy. Strong, but not overly strong. Construction is flawless. Complex flavors that wax and wane through the smoke. Delicious. Been saving this bundle for a while, and it seems I'm being...

Why does a tight draw make a cigar strong?

A guess: A tight draw = less air moving through the stick. Higher concentration of smoke, means a stronger draw. Tars also could tend to build up due to the increased concentration of tobacco smoke. The 'choke point' of the tight cigar gives tars a good place to build up. ...hey, it sure...

Is there a V-Cutter you prefer to Xikar?

Second try after alcohol; cut of a La Paulina bundle smoke went much better, but not great. OK, it's cheap but cuts like it. I've had super cheap single blade throw aways that were tolerable when nothing else was available. My $00.02 here....hard pass. One man's opinion.....
