I actually lick the rim and then use my Briar Wipe cloth (that's just for maintenance). For a smooth rim that really needs work, I'll (carefully!) use the back of a knife blade to get the worst of it off and then just work at it over time. You definitely don't want to use anything sharp/hard...

It may have looked as though I dumped all my cigars, but there's still a 54 qt. coolerdor full of boxes, and 300 and 600 count humis of loose sticks. I'm sure I'll go back to cigars at some point, but at this time they're just snoozing peacefully and aging gracefully.;) Bob
