    What's in your pipe today?

Had a mix of Butternut Burley and Egg Nog in a little GBD Ebony billiard. Very nice AM smoke.

Iwan Ries has some greats...but I can't pull the trigger!

True, but it will be replaced by the quiet hoopla of "Now, with what should I inaugurate this lovely piece of briar?" Beware PAD!!!

    Good tobacco for aging

Yup, saves trips to the B&M or more time spent online with more shipping charges. :D And a warning: do NOT believe the marketing hype on Gawith's XBlend. Hopefully it's no longer available, but if it is, steer clear. It's #1 on my AWFUL BLENDS list.

    Good tobacco for aging

Newfie's suggestions are all good ones. SOME aromatics can age well, but only if they haven't been swamped with PG. Virginia and Burley blends are generally those that will develop with age. Tins are your best bet. Don't try to store plastic pouches. "Cellaring" can get as complicated as your...

    Merry Xmas to me

Now that's one beautiful piece of briar! Here's what I won tonight: Tinsky pipe

Some price adjustments have been made (no, not THAT one). Can't believe the La Luna's and the Joya de Antano's are still there...

 Is that their new blend, "Freaky Frog on the Town"?

    Inventory Reduction

Well, the work week has started, so any further inventory posting will have to wait. I think I'll put those sticks in a separate thread anyway. I'll still respond to offers to buy, however I just don't have the energy to work and alsoset up yet another list. :( :( Poor me.

    Inventory Reduction

Geez, all I wanted to do was sell some cigars....  In an attempt (likely futile) to put this to rest, I'll attempt to respond to the salient points as best I recall them. 1. The 4 sites I chose to show were simply the first 4 that came up in a Google search. No selection as to...

    Anejo 50's $9.60 @ Peretti's but N/A $26.95 at Cigar Hut $18.50 at BestCigarPrice but OOS $24.95 at Cigar.com N/A at eCigardepot.com I think the price is reasonable.

And by that I mean living space. Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been around much, except in the Pipe Forum. Truth is, my heart has been won over by the briar. I'm in the process of inventorying the large cooler and the big humidor. Since I'm way behind in prices, it'll take some...

    second pipe

Moistening the bowl (with a honey/water mix or anything else) is generally not necessary with a quality pipe like a Nording. You may want to start with 1/3 bowls to encourage the bottom cake, but I'd say just fill it up and smoke it. If it cracks any reputable retailer should replace it at no...

    Lighters

Ditto Rob's info about the new fuel. You can likely find a Zippo locally for cheaper than online and if you return it to Zippo with a request, they will replace the standard insert with a pipe insert at no charge. Old Boy's are wonderful lighters, but not so good outdoors if there's any air moving.

    What's in your pipe today?

Wow, three great pipes, two great blends (only 'cause I have no idea about the second one). Love both tobaccos, only have one of the pipes (a few KWs). Sounds like it was a good day!!

    Move over

Man, I'd say you did REALLY well!! That's an awesome selection of tobaccos to start out with. University Flake and 1792 are 2 of my personal favorites. I also like Pete's, P-lips for bents but fishtail for straights. Hope you're enjoying your foray into another aspect of the world of...

    Help ID'ing a pipe

No idea, looks like one of the many Art Deco pipes that came out in the 40's and early 50's. If no one here can ID it, you could post a link on the alt.smokers.pipes newsgroup.
