When the Heartfelt Humidity Beads are in contact with spanish cedar the beads will absorb the oils in the wood. The beads will become discolored but will most likely work just as well for a long time. Ultimately the oils can degrade the performance of the beads.

The Heartfelt Humidity Sheets I sell perform very well and come in either 65% or 60% rh. The sheet is great for desktop and travel humidors.

Don't put the Heartfelt Humidity Beads in the humidor until you take the Bovedas out. If you have them both in there the beads will soak up the moisture from the Bovedas instead of the moisture going into your humidor wood.

I assume the hygro has been calibrated.

Have you added distilled water to the puck lately?

I must say I have never tested this one. I am honestly not sure if the scent can be "washed" out of the beads but I have a feeling it will not come out for a long time if ever.

They do both. The beads will absorb any excess moisture in the humidor and give off moisture if the humidor needs it. This way the humidor will stay very close to the Rh level of the beads you use.
