This afternoon, I came back from lunch to find 2 packages on my desk and they weren't work related!!! The first one was from Member Jorel, who sent me a 5-pack of cigars That was such a nice suprise. Thanks so much for those. Now, to make the day even better, my Avallo arrived, which is...

So what other hobbies do you have?

Woodworking is my main hobby. I also golf and I guess you can say working out is a hobby also as I enjoy running, lifting weights and going to group classes like boot camp, power yoga, spinning, etc.

where do you smoke in the cold months?

I smoke in my shop. In other words, my garage. Even with a space heater, it gets pretty cold, but its better than not smoking at all. Also, since I do woodworking on the side, I'm out there anyway, so I might as well light up a good stogie.

For what it is worth, I went through the same debate when putting together the plans for my humidor and after consulting a few my local cigar shops and seeing the Avallo setup in person, the Avallo became a no brainer. Every response I got was that cigar oasis II xl just does not do a good job...

    My new ashtray...

Very nice ashtray. I would love to have one of those out back, but our muni frowns using fire pits on a cedar deck.

    Do you lock it?

My new humidor I'm building will have a lock and I don't plan on locking it now since I don't have kids. However, once we start a family, I will lock it to keep the little ones out of Dad's stash.

A nice little find and Dirt Cheap

At our last stogie club event, our 2nd cigar was a antonio gimenez double corona. It's a medium stength cigar with a very sweet taste that features a blend of Philippine and Cuban Seed Fillers. The first one I had was difficult to draw after about 1/3 of the way through, but I really enjoyed...

Thanks for all the kind comments. I can't wait to get this done and put it to use. Thanks. Yes I did do it myself. It's made of 4, 12x12" pieces. That was one of the reasons for building this thing. I've been so hesitant purchasing anythig like the Opus X in bulk out of fear of not...
