Some budget sticks that aren't bad: CI Legends red (perdomo) or yellow (pepin) La vieja habana maduros I haven't tried these, but people highly recommend little havana overruns made by pepin.

Licorice - yuck I hate that stuff, I couldn't see how that could clear your palate. I wonder what his tasting notes would be like: Started out with a little bit of licorice, mellowed out with more licorice, and ended with a sweet licorice taste. :laugh:
