    Green Movement closes Humidors

Good points to consider Ironpeddler. I would never have thought of those things on my own. Not surprising given my line of work. :) I failed to mention that I had a conversation with one of the humidor employee's on the day of the closing. I asked if sales were a problem given the new anti...

    Green Movement closes Humidors

My wife was at the local Loblaws (large grocery chain here in Ontario Canada) and called with a question or two. After dealing with that, I asked if she would mind dropping by the smoke shop at Loblaws and pick up a couple of sticks for me. I gave her my list of preferences. She called a few...

    Cigar Ebonics

Thanks for the link Robbiexor. Exactly what I needed. Now ... gonna print it off, and study it this afternoon when the kids are napping AND while enjoying a Don Tomas Camaroon. (Won this and a few other honourable mentions on auction a while back)

    Cigar Ebonics

I have tried a search of the forums for some of the terms and abbreviations, ie: B&H etc with no luck. Quite a few of the posts use various abbreviations that I have not figured out. Either I'm brain dead or the late night feedings with my new baby daughter have taken their toll. Any chance...

Ordering from the US into Canada ?

Hi guys: The taxes and duties in Canada while excessive do vary a bit province to province. An example of the excess: I recently won a cigar auction. The final value of the auction was $50. My total cost would have been $150 with taxes and shipping all in. However I was able to eliminate the...

Are Credit Card safe to use with cigar orders?

I had my American Express card duplicated a number of years ago by a gas jockey who was connected to a street gang. With the duplicated card, they made 3 purchases on the same day at the same electronics store in Hong Kong (of all places) to the tune of a total of $15,000. AEx caught the unusual...

Update to earlier post of Buyer Beware

A while back I shared my experience with an online cigar retailer. View post here. Today I received an email from that merchant addressed to anyone who had a less that positive experience with him. In the email he made the effort to apologize for the "concerns and inconvenience". And while the...

    What did you smoke today

Just enjoyed a Miraflor Robusto. Taste reminded me of some of the Perdomo's. Not surprising I guess (I'm a newb, so correct me if I am wrong) since the Miraflor is a Nicaraguan as well. Very nice burn - even and nice ash. Well constructed too. A steal for an under $3 cigar (Canadian).

Unbelieveable!! Okay gents ... fess up. Who in here blistered up their lips doing this? I can't imagine the explaination one would need to come up with when they go to work the next day. Me ... working in a pysch ward ... I would have a few doctors recommending a few meds (and not for pain)...

New laws affecting cigar purchases in Ont. Canada

Part of my working career included a brief hiatus working for a politician here in Ontario. One of the things that I learned during that time is that policy decisions are typically made after research and polling suggest the policy will have legs. In this case ( and having some intimate...

New laws affecting cigar purchases in Ont. Canada

Ontario has taken a more aggressive stance with regard to anti smoking laws. In Ontario, no one can smoke in a bar, or any restaraunt, or public building. Soon, there will be legislation that will ban smoking in cars when children are present. Some of the laws makes good sense as in the case of...

New laws affecting cigar purchases in Ont. Canada

I was told by a local cigar retailer that in a few short weeks (May) that walk in customers will no longer be able to access his humidor. It seems that our local Provincial goverment (similar to the State level of government in the USA) has decreed that citizens of Ontario will no longer be able...
