    What are you brewing?

Welcome to brewing Jon, those Mr. Beer kits aren't bad, and a cheap option to see if you enjoy brewing. Watch out if you like it though, you'll spend all stogie money on upgrading your brew equipment (especially if you poke around that forum posted below). I currently have an Irish...

    Clensing the palete

I sometimes will have an orange soda after a smoke, the carbonated citrus seems to do a good job at cleansing a strong cigar aftertaste.

    Bart's New Vinotemp Project

X2, the Oust fans are a waste of a battery IMHO. edit to add that it's looking good so far. He'll have more room in there once all the bowls for seasoning the shelves come out. You'll probably end up taking a few shelves out once you get a few boxes in there, trust me ;)

    What are you brewing?

All the above is good advice, bottle bombs can be really messy and dangerous. I use a 1-2-3 rule of thumb: 1 week in the primary 2 weeks in the secondary 3 weeks in the bottle Then it's ready to drink. Some beers take even longer to mellow in the bottle - similar to smoking a young cigar...

    What are you brewing?

x2 - you can make some very good beers with dry yeast. I've used Nottingham dry yeast for my batches so far and it's worked great. My latest batch (a light cream ale) just finished bottle carbing. Turned out very nice, somewhat like a sam adams summer with a tad more hops.

I should be able to make this. I may be a few minutes late, I have to drop the kiddies off first.

What cigars have you smoked that are real ass kickers?

I had an Avo 80th that put me on the couch for an hour or so, and an opus XXX that came close.

Would love to make this, but it's going to be a little tougher in August for me. The wifey is heading back to work on Saturdays so I have to see if I can get my mom to watch the rug rats for an afternoon. I'll let you guys know when we get a little closer.

    Transformers 2

Let's see, should I go see this... Do you really need another reason to go see this now? :whistling:  I enjoyed the first one, I thought the modern liberties they took were all appropriate. I also didn't have a problem with the acting - it's based on a cartoon, it's supposed...

Definitely interested DeVonn, I could really use a day out. Both dates look OK for now but my FIL has been sick, so I cannot commit until the dates draw closer. Put me down as a maybe. What time do you guys usually get started?

    What are you brewing?

Ouch, sorry to see that Tim. Any idea as to where the infection came from? I got my whole turkey fryer setup (pot and burner) on clearance for something like $25 right after Thanksgiving. Being able to do a full boil is a nice plus. I'm still a noob at this, so I'm sticking with the...
