    BBQ Herf Contest

OK, here is the contest from the BBQ Herf. No, we are not doing number of attendees or ages (mostly because I was too lazy to gather the data). We are also not doing number of cigars smoked (see above reason). We do, however, have some very simple questions. The Prize? Well, I collected...

    Peruvian Gold

First of all, great review, Shawn. Love the pictures. I'm glad you enjoyed the robusto...wait until you try the little perfecto. :p The San Martin is the only 100% Peruvian cigar that I know of on the American market. It was the only one at the RTDA anyway. You can probably find a vendor...

I just lassoed a couple of friends from Charlottesville into joining us this weekend. They'll be arriving Friday evening sometime. Either pitching a tent or staying in a nearby hotel/motel. Erick...PM sent. Dennis...just wanted to give you a heads up that two more were coming. This is...

The wife and I will be there Friday. Hope to get away from work a bit early, so I would expect to be there between 6 and 7. Can't wait. I think this is going to be a great time.

    Ashton ESG's

I managed to get my hands on four of these lovelies...have not smoked one yet. Paid $18 apiece for them...straight up MSRP I believe. My local guy has not gotten any as of yet...might not. In talking to the Ashton Rep. at the RTDA, they only made 2000 boxes...Ashton has 3000 accounts. Sounds...

    Dog Training Advice

What Swissy said. Find an obedience instructor somewhere near you. If you are having trouble finding one, ask various vets, etc. There are canine obedience instructors all over the place. Absolutely. Goldens are typically pretty biddable, so establishing yourself as the "big dog"...

THEHATGUY'S ADDRESS Dennis Hawk 1123 Avon Bend Rd Charles Town WV 25414 Interesting. When I attempt to map directions to the herf, it does not recognize 1123 Avon Bend Road. I can get directions to Charles Town, but not to Dennis' house. Dennis, can you either: 1) post directions from 81...

    The color of ash

I don't necessarily agree with this line of thinking. Just based on knowledge of chemistry, it would seem that the amount of minerals that would need to be present just couldn't be present. I actually think it has more to do with the combustion (complete versus incomplete) which can be...

$15 sounds great. Do you want pre-paid or just bring it to the Herf? Anyway, there will be two of us (the wife and I) and at least one dog. :) I will be bringing an EZ-Up as well.

    Scotch Herf II

I made it. Rolled in after 9 last night. Saturday was a great time. Great cigars, great whiskies/rums,...even better companions. My poker playing skills left something to be desired, but hell, not everything can go right all the time. :p AVB and Tim, it was great seeing you again...

    Box Codes

They also don't want people buying only from one factory. They are changing factory codes at a rate now that is actually hard to keep up with. This was not always the case, but I think they found that consumers were developing a preference from cigars from certain factories, so they changed.
