The first one i tried was the figurado...it was very good for the first half and still enjoyable in the second, but the robusto size i had at my poker herf a couple nights ago was fantastic. Those will be where i put my coin if i decide to splurge on a box.

Sounds like a great cigar. I'll be trying one soon. Lately the lanceros and thinner ring cigars have been fun to explore. My favorite Padillas at this point are the '32s and 8&11s. Good stuff. The Miami is outstanding with a nice glass of 14yr Oban, BTW. :D

I love these as well. I'm beginning to appreciate the longer thinner cigars more and more as time goes on. I also love the cohiba lanceros, TTT fundadores and even the One Off Laguitos.

I've noticed this too and have experimented with some of the longer, thinner rings as well with great results (Cohiba lancero and TTT fundadores comes to mind). I'm thinking that the ratio of wrapper to filler may have something to do with this. The wrapper is the most defining leaf on a cigar...

My experience with the Monte lines is that they tend to be inconsistent. So i would agree with your statement that if you get one that's "on" they are fantastic. Otherwise, there is much better stuff out there for the coinage IMHO.
