    Padilla 1948

Ditto that. The '32 and 8 & 11 are my faves so far. Again, not to say the '48 isn't a good smoke...just not AS good as the other two i mentioned IMHO.

    San Cristobal Review

The first one i tried was the figurado...it was very good for the first half and still enjoyable in the second, but the robusto size i had at my poker herf a couple nights ago was fantastic. Those will be where i put my coin if i decide to splurge on a box.

    Padilla 1948

Sounds like a great cigar. I'll be trying one soon. Lately the lanceros and thinner ring cigars have been fun to explore. My favorite Padillas at this point are the '32s and 8&11s. Good stuff. The Miami is outstanding with a nice glass of 14yr Oban, BTW. :D

Whats in your glass right now?

Good stuff, maynard! Oban 14yr for me right now. I enjoy the spicy edge to this, especially with a good corojo wrapped cigar or maybe something good from Nicaragua (Padron comes to mind).

    Is this a good deal?

Hands down the TTT would be at the top of that list for me. I think CA's ratings are bought and paid for.

    CAO america

My experience was very similar. Medium bodied, non spicey and good flavor for the first third. The cigar was just ok for me the rest of the way and even though they have a reasonable price tag i am not really planning on adding them to my personal inventory. Who knows though, with a little...

I'm thinking of building a Coolidor

Good choice. Coolidors are simple and inexpensive for storing a large stash of goodies. I still remember getting my first one a few years ago thinking that i'd never fill it. After 3 were full and i was thinking about cooler number four i finally took the plunge and just built a cabinet...

    CAO CRIOLLO

Nice review on a good cigar. I like the smaller sizes and often grab one when i have a short drive. Great with about anything, but i usually find myself having one with an espresso in the truck on the fly. Thanks for sharing. Try the Brazilias, Italias, Sopranos and Blacks. All of those are...

    Any Homebrewers Out There

Happy brewing! I've been making wine for a few years now and recenly got into beer as well. I've got a cellar in the basement and a kegerator on the back patio. My current taps are running an Irish Red and a Special Bitter. Beer is simply better when you make it YOUR way. Have fun!

Rest In Peace My Faithful Friend.

My condolences, bro. I know all too well how hard it is to take this step, but in some cases it is the best thing. I recently did the same with my furry friend of 11yrs (pictured in my avatar). Time is the best medicine in such undertakings. It sounds like you did the right thing and your...

    OpusX Petit Lancero

I love these as well. I'm beginning to appreciate the longer thinner cigars more and more as time goes on. I also love the cohiba lanceros, TTT fundadores and even the One Off Laguitos.

    The trend towards larger cigars

I've noticed this too and have experimented with some of the longer, thinner rings as well with great results (Cohiba lancero and TTT fundadores comes to mind). I'm thinking that the ratio of wrapper to filler may have something to do with this. The wrapper is the most defining leaf on a cigar...

    What an amazing cigar!

My experience with the Monte lines is that they tend to be inconsistent. So i would agree with your statement that if you get one that's "on" they are fantastic. Otherwise, there is much better stuff out there for the coinage IMHO.

    Whats Your Latest Puchase

Same here, which is why i bought them. It didn't take much being i'm already a TTT fan. I'm looking forward to trying out more of the Juan Lopez stuff as well. I tried the seleccion No.1 and it was good, i've been hearing great things about the coronas which i've yet to sample (from the above...

    Less expensive smokes...

This has been my experience with them as well. The first one i had was ok, so i gave it a second go and was more unimpressed. The last one i had was a well aged "mystery stick" and i told the sender my first guess (by looks and size) was Monte No. 4, but then i was confused because i really...
