IIRC it's called the Dick cut, or something thereabouts. It helps to increase the gauge of the cut end, and also supposedly helps direct smoke either down onto you tongue, or up against your palate. Similar to the now famous chisel from LFD. Never tried it myself tho :whistling:

Happens to me too, although only when holding larger rings. My theory is the larger rings prevent me from fully closing my mouth. This dries out the interior, which signals the saliva glands to go into overdrive.

The bottom will actually burn better, due to there being more oxygen and less smoke, so turn the slower burning portion towards the bottom. What RH are you storing your cigars at? A higher one will promote poorer burns. If you smoke it too slowly it will go out too, so you have to balance...

Wow those things are pretty huge. While they look 100 times better than a coolidor, I still think a coolidor paired with a nice desktop humi would serve you better. Mainly because the coolidor would hold your chosen RH almost effortlessly with a good humidification device, say 70% for aging...
