    Scotch huh!

I take it the 'G' means gold and not green? I prefer mine at room temperature, usually without any water. Adding a few drops of water I do every now and again. AVB, Caol Ila 12 year was the first whisky I tried and I loved it; it got me hooked on whisky. There aren't too many with a stonger...

    Cigar Boxes

Really the only thing that could happen (as long as the wood or glues don't have an aroma) is that the wood could warp. But the best benefit of spanish cedar is that it resists warping and mold growth in the high humidity in a humidor better than just about anything else...

    No more Hirsch

A store by me has them for $80, so if anybody's interested in one for ~$92 (with tax and shipping), I'd be happy to pick up a bottle for you...

    Ordered the Accumonitor 20-40 Today

After talking with Matt at Avallo last Friday, I ordered one of these Monday. I like the way they have them set up and don't think you can go wrong with one. I really wish I could have just ordered his controller sans a few parts and built my own humidification system. I still may end up...

    Prop Glyc shelf life

Propylene glycol should not have a strong smell. It shouldn't smell so strong that it can be compared to rubbing alcohol... How pure is the PG you picked up? Are there any additives at all? I would spend the few extra dollars and get something else rather than risk ruining your cigars.

Who will win the Stanley Cup .. Part Deux!

I don't know all that much about the West, but it looks to me like the Wings will have a hard time beating the Ducks. As far as the East, as a biased, die-hard Sabres fan, I believe they will beat Ottawa in 6 or 7. Emery is not playing nearly as well as Lundqvist, and the Buffalo offense will...

    America's FIRST 5 Star Bourbon

It saved me about $12. They have a few bottles of the Caol Ila 25 year in stock too, and I'm sure eventually I'll get around to picking up a bottle of that...

    America's FIRST 5 Star Bourbon

I've had some of mine and thought it was very good, but I'm not one who writes good reviews, especially since I don't drink many bourbons. I did find a local store that has a few bottles in stock, and not a bad price for $80. They actually have an excellent selection of whiskies...

    My Humidor in Progress

DOH! I got the doors on and then went to line up/adjust the drawer and realized I forgot to leave room for the drawer slides. Time to head back to the drawing board, but I already got a couple ideas...

Occupations - what do you do?

I'm a Project Manager for Whiting-Turner and specialize in building food processing and warehousing/cold storage warehousing buildings. I can smoke at work before we get the building closed in, but usually don't. I like to relax and lounge around when I'm smoking a nice cigar. Edit to add...

    Chris Druuurrry

This guy always plays his best under pressure. I was getting a little worried by the way Buffalo played in New York, but man did they pull it out big time last night. What an unbelievable finish! Now hopefully Buffalo can wrap things up tomorrow afternoon. LET'S GO BUFFALO

I decided to give up smoking those so I mailed them all down to you... Seriously though, I have an Opus or two for you for celebration of your twins births. What do you want? chili pepper?? BBMF?? LBMF (I had one of these at the casino the other day and it was fantastic, a little...

    My Humidor in Progress

I don't have much skill; I'm still really a beginner. I just take my time and re-work pieces until they look decent. The Superintendent I worked with on my last project came from a family of carpenters. His Grandfather does is amazingly skilled and uses mostly hand tools. He told me it just...

    My Humidor in Progress

I've been working on this for the last couple weeks since the weather got warm. I canibalized the solid Spanish Cedar drawers from a local cigar shop that was throwing them out along with the main carcass. I have a couple shelves that I didn't take a picture of. I thought about going the...

    Shops on Oahu

I was in Maui for a couple weeks in November a year and a half ago. I brought all my own cigars and just smoked on the lanai looking at the mountains or the ocean. There were plenty of good cigars to be had on the island, and at $50 per Opus, I imagine there will still be some left... When...
