So my lovely wife just told me that she wants to let me escape the travails of work and family life once a month so I can have time, space, and quiet to pursue my life dream of writing. Writer's retreat, I guess we could call it.
I was thinking that the best and most efficient way to do this...
Used to be a remote worker and changed jobs last year to an office in my locale. Worst move I ever made. Sure, I'm more keyed in and have more responsibility, but I'm also in the office from 9-7 nearly every day and I basically get to kiss my daughters good night and that's the gist of my...
Funny, I just saw this stuff tonight for the first time at my neighborhood plexiglass-encased liquor store. I glanced at the label and passed on it when I saw the bright red antler rack on it. Couldn't read the label from where I was standing, but it looked like bad news.
Tonight, it's my first Sir Winston -- an '07 I believe. Tastes great, construction sucks. It's in the process of splitting straight down the middle, so I'm enjoying it as much as I can before it turns into a tobacco taco.
Long, hard week and a weekend that didn't spare me much rest from work. Didn't stop me from taking a nice break with a Tatuaje Regio and a little bit of Jamesons. Not the best match in the world but it was worth trying.
chenman -- thought I'd respond since I spend way too much time pondering post-Pepin Padillas. The Miami was my holy Grail in my first year of smoking.
While the new blend is good IMO, it is not as good as the old. There's a certain depth and "twang" missing from the new blend.
I may have a...
Since my wife loves Dark & Stormies it's pretty much our staple dark rum. Occassionally, I'll splurge on the Zacapa but I always have Goslings stocked. Good stuff and, yes, a great price.
Great story, Bryce.
I am an ex-smoker of cigarettes, too, and I can't stand the smell of cigarettes now compared to the delightful aroma of a premium cigar. But, whatever, I certainly wouldn't sue anyone over it. These insane people should have excercised their freedom of choice by moving the...
To further disagree with El Greco, one of my first few CCs was a Vegas Robaina Unico and I loved it. Every palate is different, so your best bet is to go out and try what you can.
Just my luck there was a reorg announcement at work and the requisite gathering afterward. Couldn't really tell my freshly engaged charges that I was going to leave to smoke cigars and look at boobies...
Well, I guess I could have invited them all along...
Oh well. I'm optimistic for next...
Today it was:
Vegas Cubana torpedo.
Ramon Allones Gigante
DPG Blue Invicto
all in all a good smoking day, though wishing I had just one more Tatuaje Frank (what I smoked last night).
I agree about relative inconsistency of Oliva smokes. Whether it's the V, the G, or the O (have not tried an S yet) I've had great ones and I've had duds, many times out of the same box.
