    Fat Tire beer

I always hoped there'd be more beer talk on the boards. I've had fat tire, and it's good, but it was a little too "weak" for me. Still a million times better than the normal macrobrews. My favorites right now are Stone's Arrogant Bastard Ale, Stone's Imperial Russian Stout, and 3 Floyd's...

    Internet Security Question

OK, the Time Warner guy came today and basically just swapped my modem for a different one. That was it. I just had heard some rumors in the past from other employees that I guess weren't true. The installer assured me that the only thing that could be seen from the outside would be bandwidth...

    Internet Security Question

The person coming is from Time Warner, yes. They called to set up the appointment. I'll talk to the install guy when he comes and try to get th scoop. I'll let you guys know. As a side note, I'm not overly concerned with "hackers." I currently have a firewall installed and have had no...

    Internet Security Question

Just curious if anyone has any experience with this situation: I work out of my home mostly, and starting tomorrow my company will be paying for my internet access. I have broadband now through Time Warner. My company contacted me and asked me who I currently use. They then had to make sure...

    aging opinions & techniques?

I would go with 65%. Most people will say 65% for cubans, and 70% for non cubans, but 65% seems to be the best. Yes, a box date of 2002 would mean 2 year old cigars I wouldn't really worry too much about age of singles for a few reasons. First off, retailers are very rarely going to sell...

    aging opinions & techniques?

Yeah, I would say get either a separate humidor, or a coolerdor only for boxes you plan on aging for a while. Get the most reliable and maintenance free humidification device you can get (climmax comes to mind) so that you're not opening the lid all that often. Just often enough to let some of...

    Montecristo #2 ISOM

I had one last night, and it must have been about to go into a sick period. It tasted like...well nothing. There were the subtelest hints of flavor, but for the most part, down to the nub there was nothing. Pretty sad day :sneaky:

how the drug companies screw us

The average time from when a drug is conceived until a company actually starts making money on it is from 10-15 years. R&D costs are anywhere from $500 million to billions. Most of the money coming from the products we buy are used to fund research for new products. Most companies also offer...

Why Some Cigars Make One Sick

I've read that "green" tobacco, or tobacco that is too young will make you quesy, no matter how seasoned a smoker you are.

Keep them in the plastic wrapper or not?

What emo said goes along with the "buffering of humidity" theory. That by leaving the cello on it deters rapid changes in humidity (like opening and closing of the humidor). I buy into that. I also buy in to the fact that the cello protects the wrappers. If my cigars come in cello I leave it...

Keep them in the plastic wrapper or not?

If you have plenty of time, search the archives and you can read for hours about whether to leave the cello on or off. If that doesn't sound like much fun, I'l summarize for you: It doesn't make that big of a difference either way.
