Just curious as to the highest proofed scotch everyone has had here. For me it is the Aberlour Abunadh at 120 proof, or 60% alcohol, however you want to measure it.

I'd recommend an Oban, really good beginners scotch, not too heavy not too light. Just my preference of course. JRW

My father and I collect Scotch, have the one that you reviewed, and also the Darkest Islay and 25 year old. Have to agree with you on the less "peaty" of the islays, and that its a great after dinner scotch, but really, what scotch isn't good after dinner. :D
