    Favorite Mild Cigar

gimme an AVO #2 or Fonseca 7x50. I've got a few Gispert robusto maduros that have improved with age; they're a good stick to kick off the day. My cheap go-to smoke is a sun grown cedar by fonseca. Not the "full bodied" cigar that it is touted to be.

    Dr. Marn's Sungrown extravaganza

nice posts. I lit up a Don Tomas Sungrown last night - first half inch burnt the buds pretty good but it mellowed out nicely. Next up is an AVO sungrown followed by the Fonseca Sun Grown Cedar - my go-to stick and one you should try.

    Atlanta Area Spring HERF 2008

I'm in Athens. . .been trying to drum up some support for a mini-herf here this spring. College town with a number of friends and colleagues who like to indulge every once-in-a-while. Not big on traveling to the ATL unless I have to, but the Stone Mtn area may work. Keep Athens in mind. No...

    /love Sun Grown

I began acquiring cigars long before I started learning about wrappers, binders, fillers, etc. Come to find out most of what I began stock-piling had sun grown wrappers. . .mostly Ecuadorian grown Conn. wrappers. Gotta' love a sun grown. I must say my current fav is the Fonseca Cedar.

    7 Deadly Zins

My wife dragged me to a fondue joint right outside Atlanta, GA. The saving grace of that very strange meal was the aforementioned wine!

    Noob Here. . .

In time, I'll probably like the HH Mature Va, too. I always keep some good mild cigars in my weekly rotation - they were acquired, as I'm sure mild pipe tobaccos will also be acquired. I probably should have started with the aromatics, since that is what I know best - in a second hand kind of...

    Noob Here. . .

Hello, folks! I bought my first pipe recently and finally got a chance to light up. I bought a meerschaum lined briar by La Rocca; I heard the meerschaum would give me some versatility in the blends that I could smoke out of the same pipe without the dreaded mixing of flavors. I don't know if...

    Daily Smokes

Toaster, sounds like we're in the same place in terms of finding a good daily smoke. I recently found two good cigars, both at great prices: Gispert Maduros and Fonseca Cedars. A cedar after work makes for a great hours' relaxation. The best thing is that I've not found a bourbon or scotch...

    Started a Cigar Journal

. . .the journal is definitely a smart move. I've never been one to pick out the flavor nuiances of cigars, at least the really subtle flavors. I can easily pick out "toast" or "leather" or. . .get this. . ."cedar," particularly if it is cedar wrapped! I keep my bands and a few notes in book...
