While out shopping today in Tennessee I was able to pick up a bottle of Four Roses single barrel. I look forward to drinking some after while. I just wanted to give you all a heads up.

Two things:
1) They're selling Four Roses in Tennessee now?
2) The Four Roses single barrel is a really good pour. Be sure to tell us your opinion!

#1. I almost felt like I willed it to be so. My wife and I were on our way home from eating seafood and I was about to bust. She said that she wanted to stop by the liquor store to get some vodka because she didn't think she had enough to have her nightly dose for the week. When we got there she asked if I needed any bourbon. I said not really but I will go in and look to see what they have. Then I told her about how I planned to pick up some Four Roses when we drive through Kentucky on our way to our annual family reunion. Then as I'm looking at the different bourbons, there it was. The had single barrel, small batch and just plain ole Four Roses. I couldn't believe it. This was in Johnson City, TN. I don't know if they have it all over the state, but they had it there.

#2. I really like it. I will leave the reviews up to AVB because I don't know how. I do know that It tastes good & has a good alcohol content (100 proof). I look forward to trying the other two in the near future.

You are more then welcome to add your thoughts here All input is worthwhile in the big scheme of things.

It's also making the rounds in Illinois now, too!

While back, I heard an interview on WhiskyCast (very good online whisk(e)y news show) with Jim Rutledge, Master Distiller at Four Roses in Lawrenceburg, KY. After only being an export brand for decades, they decided to take advantage of the high-class bourbon market in the US and have been slowly ramping up Four Roses' US distribution. For several years, it was only sold in Kentucky...now they've started expanding to bordering states, the Midwest, and eventually I'm guessing a nationwide distribution.

Here's a link to the podcast of the interview (it's part of Episode 91): LINK

And yes...Four Roses Single Barrel ROCKS!!!

Picked up a bottle of the single barrel at a Buy Rite in Jersey on Saturday, 36.99 for the gift pack with 2 glasses. Very tasty stuff.
