Dealing With High Temps in the Winter

Good point, I never thought of that. What kind of temperature change would cause this? Would it have to be really drastic and frequent? Or would changes from 70 to 75 cause cracking?

    ring gauge

So far I have been smoking in the 38-42 range. As the weather gets warmer I’ll probably move to the larger gages.

Dealing With High Temps in the Winter

I live in an apartment with no control over the heat. Over the past week it has been really cold up here in Toronto so the super has cranked up the heat in the building  and my humidor temp has risen as high as 74.5 degrees during the day. When I check in the morning it is around 72...

    Backwood dissection

My buddies and I would buy a couple packs of Backwoods back in the high school days whenever we went camping. We called them Eastwoods because we thought we’d look like Clint when we smoked 'em. Oh those fun fun high school times. :D

Your Favorite Movies With Special Effects?

Total Recall. The scene in the MARS airport when Schwarzenegger is disguised as the old lady is great. And the 3rd boob!!! Now that was special effects.

    Favorite Poker Night Cigar

Well… I ended up loosing $50. :( It was a tough game; I was the only non-lawyer playing. And I was the only “rookie”. Everyone there knew each other and had played with each other about 15 times. I’ll chock it up as a learning experience and next time I’ll win my money back. :) The Cuaba...

    Your favorite band.

I know of couple of Uncle Tupelo songs like Gun and New Madrid, but I don’t own any of their albums. Which ones would you recommend? I finally Greg Kot’s book Wilco - Learning How to Die, and there are a couple of chapters about Jeff and Jay and the early Uncle Tupelo days. Looking forward to...

    Your favorite band.

I spent most of my time in university listening to Springsteen. The first time I heard Thunder Road I got chills (I know, I know that’s cheesy ). Now my favorite band is Wilco. They are a great band from the Chicago area. I think I have seen them live about 15 times now and they never...

    Cigar Excise Taxes by State

This is what we pay here in Ontario. Leave it to the Canadian Government to make things so complicated. We need a definition to determine the “taxable price”. Tax on cigars is 56.6% of the taxable price* * Taxable price of a cigar defined: (i) taxable price = the price for which the...

    Cuabas

I recently bought a box of Divinos (Sept 05). I haven’t smoked any yet, they are sitting in my humidor. I have read that there have been some Cuaba’s that have a really tight draw. Has anyone experienced this? If so were the cigars new or aged?

    Heading to Cuba...

Whatever you decide to buy make sure you get them from a government store. You will be bombarded with people trying to sell you cigars on the street, especially in tourist areas. It gets pretty annoying… just tell them that you don’t smoke cigars.
