A beer has to hit the sweet spot where it's selling enough to be financially viable but not so much that the quality goes off. Quite a trick if you can pull it off at all, let alone for any length of time.

I don't see anyone slamming Rod for his taste in beer, plebian or otherwise. It's purely a matter of personal preference. Some people want a beer with a bit of flavor, some people prefer a Bud, some people prefer monkey urine.

I haven't seen the US version yet although I'm betting with Steve Carell in the boss role it's a hoot. I really enjoyed the original (UK) version. You should check it out if you get a chance. It's one of those rare shows that gets funnier every time you watch it.
