I'm not sure how big the release is. I went last year and it was not big at all. It gets out into limited distribution (but at $18-25) because people don't care about Weyerbacher. My brother is going I think 100%, so it might be possible for me to get you guys some. It really is a steal at...
This beer is seriously seriously good; we rated it higher than aged Cantillon Lou Pepe Framboise. Weyerbacher is usually overlooked, but most of their stuff is pretty solid.
I did one based on Houblon Chouffe. It was alright. I think you'll get a better flavor profile from the Euro hops and the Belgo yeast because I think the USA hops and Belgo yeast clash most of the time.
I would, but I don't feel like buying a six pack. It just came to NJ, but I really don't go to buy commercial beers anymore due to lack of interest and budget.
Upon further drinking a sample of this beer, it is not overly bitter, but the hop flavors are weird woody/soapy and whatnot. I think the issue with this recipe is that it is so dry and there are not any sugars to mesh with the beer.
I actually got the sampler pack for my pops a while ago when they had it at my liquor store. I was surprised. For the price they were pretty damn good...especially all those high ABV beers in a cheaper sampler pack. Probably not worth trading for or going out of your way for.
So what's the deal with English varieties. Homebrewing is all about experimentation, so I've decided recently to branch out and try some Fuggles, Goldings, Northern Brewer, etc.
First I made a 2 row/Munich with all Northern brewer and Pacific gem. That beer sucked, but I suffered through...
Haha, I was wondering whether you were fantasizing or weren't paying attention. Since you were fantasizing...no worries! I do it all the time with beer.
Wanted to love it, but didn't. Pretty ordinary stout, not even close to Ten Fidy in style or worthiness. If you're a homebrewer, this is one that is easily recreated. One and done for me.
