Thanks for the well wishing boys! I'm around...I just linger in the beer forum nowadays. Have two exams to study for tomorrow and Wednesday, but I had a good weekend!
I have had 39 of them. I could have had more, but usually don't care for strong Belgians so I haven't had them. This is going from a list from a few months ago so some of the Top 100 might have changed:
Younger, Abyss, Elder, KBS, Rochefort 10, Peche Mortel, Breakfast Stout, Stone IRS...
Nope. Just a pot with a paint strainer to pull the grains out to mash in. While mashing, I heat up sparge water in another pot. I pour the wort into a container and sparge the grain for 10 minutes. I then take the paint strainer out and put the wort back in. Boil away.
Seemingly fine. The wort didn't taste so good, but I got 79.5% efficiency. It's going nuts with bubbling through fermentation. We'll see in a few weeks. I have a few more on deck to accompany it: Edmund Fitz clone and a Coffee Indian Brown Ale. We'll see how they do as I must do them back...
I believe Mick is referring to "black pepper" beers. I've had Knot Stock and it's fantastic. I'm going to brew some of my own pepper beers when I get the chance because there's none really available to me.
