Without testing the soil, I wouldn't add lime or gypsum unless you know you have alkali or clay soil. One of the best things you can do for your soil is to aerate then spread a 1/4" to 1/2 of fine compost on top. The organic matter helps balance your soil and boosts the numbers of...
Couldn't agree more, Danno. For me Cohiba's have some very distinct flavors that I haven't found (consistently) in other marcas. When they're on, they're out of this world. When they're not, well, they're just another cigar. While I can't justify hoarding boxes of them, I certainly keep a...
One of my all time favorites. Not sure if it's mainly sentimental at this point, but this cigar is near and dear to my heart. I've only got about half a dozen or so left:(.
I second this. I had a medium size wineador (can't remember the cu in) and the cooling unit dries the air much more than you would think. In this case, more is better.
Edit: grammar
Smoking my first Connie A and really enjoying it. It had a pretty bad crack/split running the first inch of the cigar. Thankfully it has not affected the burn or draw.
That's my main issue with my Vitamix. Since it doesn't fit under the cabinets, my wife is constantly putting it in the cupboard. I find I don't use it as much as I would like because of that. I like the machine, but if I had it do do over again, I'd probably get the Ninja from Costco. IIRC...
I guess it depends on the size/ring gauge you prefer. If everything is on the table, my vote for a not so obvious choice would be Quai d'Orsay Corona. I picked up a couple boxes not too long ago and they have not disappointed. Good luck in making your decision :)
It's not something I do with all my cigars, just ones I think are at their peak or smoking just way I like and I know I won't make it through them all in the near future. I've never used a boveda pack. As long as the cigars were properly humidified prior to sealing, they should be fine.
And...
Brian, IMO your question is a matter of personal preference. If I crack open a box and it's smoking really well, I can usually guestimate how many cigars from that box I'll go through in the next 9-12 months. The remainer get vacuumed sealed. If I have any extra boxes of the same, I vacuum...
After smoking my first one I was blown away and quickly ordered several more boxes. I knew I wouldn't get around to smoking a few of the boxes for several years, so I figured vacuum sealing them would be a way to possibly slow down the aging process. It seems to have worked in this case.
No...
My Father Le Bijou "Puff n Stuff"
I remember these cigars being one of, if not the best DPG cigars I've had. I recently cracked a box I vacuum sealed back in 2011 and was afraid the last 4 1/2 years would have muted many of the flavors that caused me to love this cigar...boy was I wrong. It...
