LOL don't hate. I have a barrel aged imperial pumpkin ale from Uinta on the way in a trade this week. Can't wait to try that one! I had one last year from Heavy Seas called Greater Pumpkin that was very tasty...actually I still have one that has been aging and need to put it in the fridge for...

I got this lovely dark maduro looking stick from bluue13. After being sick off and on for a few months after I got this and given the nasty 100+ degree weather we're having around here I finally got around to reviewing this. I finally just drove over to my local shop and sat down with this...
I've read of other bottles gushing a bit when they were opened without chilling. I find it interesting that you didn't get much barrel character as this is supposed to have a big bourbon presence. I really want to track down a 2009 bottle as I hear it's very different from the last release.
I...
LOL I've had Parabola, Abacus, BCS Bombers, Mother of all Storms, Abyss, Hunahpu's and all sorts of other 11%+ beers in large formats. Most of the time I have no problem but I'm usually pretty buzzed by the last sip. Hunahpu's killed me though. Took me 3 hours to drink that thing and it...
You drank a Black Tuesday by yourself? That is something I have been trying to talk myself into but I can never imagine putting away a 750ml bottle of a 20% stout...
I have trouble with 10% beers in the 750ml format...
LOL @ Fosters Lager, nice one John.
Last night I had a Clown Shoes Brown Angel that was decent and a COAST Buffalo Trace Blackbeerd that was awesome. Wish I had another BT Blackbeerd...it had just enough barrel aging without being overbearing.
Sipping on a Smelly Sell Barrel Aged Imperial Vanilla Porter. Here's my review:
Poured into a snifter after being chilled in the fridge. I couldn't wait to open this one
Appearance: Pours a dark brown, almost black, with some reddish highlights and a pretty big/thick dark tan head that fades...
Hoegaarden is one I'll order at a bar if they have it and I want something light and tasty. Enjoy and watch out...the craft beer hobby is almost as expensive as cigars if you really get into them. :)
Thanks for posting your thoughts, Justin. The Wytchmaker bottles are probably close to their peak freshness and the over-carb is most likely from the bottle conditioning. I wouldn't doubt if the hops were fading by this point. I'll have to get you a fresh one next time they bottle it because...
I didn't do one last time but here's my current list. I'm adding Pumpkin Ale on the end since it is one I enjoy as well.
* American Pale Ale: Oskar Blues Dale's Pale Ale
* Dunkelweizen: Shiner Holiday Cheer (not much experience here)
* ESB: N/A
* English Brown Ale: Turbodog
* Irish Dry...
