I have a very small 11 bottle unit that I have the same problem with and it was not a compressor unit, it is thermoelectric. The humidity would still drop from 65 to around 50 every time it kicked on. Luckily I don't really need to run it, it stays at 70 without.
Last night was 30 but no wind. After my workout I sat on the back patio with a padron 2000 watching the golf tourney on the big screen thru the picture window. My first padron and loved it, sooo smooth.

Like JR said, portion control is huge. Use a smaller plate at dinner time. Eat small healthy snacks in between meals. Throw some exercise in there and u ate good to go.
