    Need a set of knives

Oh ya here is what i meant to post in the first place before i got ranting. Take a look at some Swissmar knives for good "cheapies". Especially their SWIBO lines. I know a few kitchens that use them as their knifes and they take a beating and keep on cutting. Also stop by a kitchen supply store...

    Need a set of knives

"I agree with Ree Ree if you want the best knife. Look at it as a cigar you would smoke. Do you want 5 Vegas, La Flor or Opus. If you can afford it, Wusthof is hands down the best." That would be a matter of opinion. I have tried a lot of knives out and agree the Wustof knives are good, but I...

    Aging Beer

A lot of it is personal opinion, when you think something has reached its peak. When brewing beer at home, a lot of times you will let a batch sit for a few weeks then taste it. Sometimes you will decide it is "ready" sometimes you will give it another few weeks and try another one until you are...

Homebrewers, Any reason not to go all grain from the start?

I can boil 5 gallons in -30 Deg C (-22 Deg F) on a small 3500 btu burner pretty easily. You should have no problems boiling 10 with a nice Banjo burner. On the other hand though 10 gallons is a lot more beer and when you first start out you will be wanting to make a lot of different...

Dogs, man's best friend, intruder's worst enemy.

The dog above is a Neapolitan mastiff, very large dogs. They also have a little more special needs than other dogs and can have some skin problems because of the fold in their skin. Also typically expensive, around here a purebred puppy can run you $3500.00 (Cdn). The dog in my avatar is a Bull...

Can anyone reccomend a Canadian online store?

If the package says cigars on it you WILL get hammered with custom fees. "There isn't any. Find a couple of places in the US that will ship and take your chances." That pretty much sums it up.

    UFC 100 Saturday

Most of that is true except the part about playing smart and waiting. He is relentless, he forces his game on his opponent and he doesn't give his opponent time to be offensive, he is just relentless, controlling and dominating. GSP is on another level the way that Anderson Silva is. There is...

    COHIBA

This is my Siglo VI band. It looks like w00ts!te's band, but the other band is missing squares as well as some gold around the white Cohiba box and possibly the lettering too.

    Smoking

Sure you can get a smoke ring, i used to do slow smoked ribs on my gas grill, before i got my BGE. You need to setup some water pans and a few other mods. Check out: http://www.amazingribs.com/tips_and_techni...rill_setup.html Look under "Techniques" "Best Gas Grill Setup". I will admit i...

    Dry Box

I have a tupperador (sp?) that i have been playing with. I keep a tube of 60% beads in there. I left a few smokes in there that always seem to smoke "wet" for a couple of weeks. Tried one tonight and the draw was much nicer. I am going to be playing around with this some more. My regular...

    Help giving advice

That Zino 3 cigar box set looks good. I am going to show that and a few other cigars i have found to him and see what he thinks. I honestly don't think the cigars matter as much as the presentation. He just wants something "special", and since he doesn't smoke cigars very often "special" is...

    Help giving advice

I was looking at a God of Fire set to recommend to him. There are 4 cigars in it, with a lighter and a nice case, very nice presentation. A Culebra might be cool too, as he is looking for three cigars to share. I don't think the normal Partagas Culebra is quite special enough for what he has in...

    Help giving advice

My neighbor last night asked me for advice on some cigars for him and his two groomsmen for his wedding. He isn't a big cigar guy, but he wants something special for his wedding. He doesn't mind spending a few hundred bucks he said, so i thought i would ask you guys for your recommendation. I...

    Guinness 250 Anniversary Stout

Guinness is also served off of a nitrogen/C02 mix. That's what gives it its cascading effect when poured and the nice light creamy mouth feel. Style wise i would think Guinness is considered the benchmark for dry irish stout.

    Ripping CD collection onto computer

A lot of people back up their collection using FLAC or other lossless, then rip to MP3 for portable audio devices. Its a bit more time consuming but you get the best of both worlds. If you only have 4 gigs for storage on your portable device i would want to make the most of it and go with MP3...
