    Pet Peeve

You're right, no one wants a flame war and what we have isn't a flame war. Its a discussion. I've already commented that my first post is a bit to heated. Anything I were to send you in a pm at this point would be a simple re-iteration of my previous post. Ie, why do you take pleasure in taking...

    Pet Peeve

Yes we are digressing. However please stick to the facts. Nick commented on parking in the back of parking lots, and double parking. Double parking is parking directly next to a row of parked cars, generally taking up a traffic lane. see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_parking Parking and...

    Pet Peeve

People parking their car far away from other cars in order to avoid scratches, door dings and potential vandalism is 'look at me'? Funny but I've yet to meet a Ferrari owner who has not had something done to their car in a parking lot. There is a reason why people take that precaution, whether...

    Any car people here?

Defintely. I go to the Monterey Historics/Pebble Beach every year and its amazing just to see and hear the cars, and to then watch the auctions. Always floors me.

    Pet Peeve

Yeah it was a rant and I was a bit more heated than I probably should have been. It is however an incredibly annoying 'passive' aggressive behavior. I also fail to see how it can annoy anyone that there are people who care enough about their car to park in such a manner as to avoid door dings...

    Pet Peeve

/rant/ Why freak them out? Your actions is one of my pet peeves. The idiots who deliberately go out of their way to piss off or annoy someone they don't know for no reason other than to get their rocks off. Show small amount of consideration towards others and try to leave a berth between cars...

    Any car people here?

Volvo 740. I drift it and occasionally auto-x it. Its received some very mild modifications and I'll be in a e30 325is or es before next school year. Use to have a Bmw 535i that had a short shifter, eibach suspension all around and exhaust. Also use have an '89 Taurus SHO that was stripped to...

New Lara Croft? Are they making a new Tomb Raider Movie? They put the game series "to rest" awhile ago and are apparently bringing it back.

Cars: Buy used? New? lease? Advice needed

Depends on on how well you know the market. For me its the preferred way. For my father its definitely the best way. We've made nice side of cash by finding the good deal from the private party and then selling them at higher prices, or keeping them if we liked the car enough.

    Internet Radio

I like to run the itunes radio, specifically 'the social crime radio network', 'khaha.com' and 'defcon radio'. They're all comedy standup/skits/prank call styles radio shows. I especially like the social crime radio network because it airs pretty much the entire show of the standup, so if you...

    OT - MINI Coopers

BMW owns the Mini name. They design them and build some of the parts in Germany, source some of the others and build some of the parts in England. They're basically a German car in the end. They get assembled in England, Oxford to be specific. Look sporty and are fun to drive. They also handle...

    Transfer to a University

Out of your list Berkeley and UCLA. Personally I'm at UCSB, didn't bother applying to anywhere else except USC (incase UCSB said no...) and turned down USC to go to UCSB. I'm accounting major however and UCSB/UCLA/USC are the three most heavily recruited schools for accounting in southern...
