I'm filling my humidor with cigars for years to come. After 2-3 years I'll have a good selection of more or less aged CC's to smoke. That's why it's 50 % of my net monthly income now. If I actually compare my yearly income to cigars that I actually smoke the cost might be somewhere between 1-2 %.
I'm going to hijack this thread a little bit. Just look at these beautiful nine year old girls! I'm in love!
Beware: NSFW pop-ups!
^Makes me sound like a pedophile :sign:
And somehow, I took this option and ordered Esplendidos.
I could have had box of RyJ churchills and Party Lusitanias at the same prize.
Sir Winnies next time! :whistling:
I've read that some cigars get stronger when they age. What happens to nicotine when tobacco ages?
Does age decrease the amount of nicotine in tobacco? Nicotine is an organic compound and some of them are destroyed either by itself or by oxygen.
Or does the amount increase? Because as base...
One more thing about Spain. If you visit southern Spain, you have to visit Gibraltar for cigars. I think it's some kind of customs free zone or something, well cigars are cheap anyway.
I'll send PM for shop to visit there.
Thank you for the informative opening post.
BTW. Menendez Amerino makes great cheaper cigars under "Alonso Menendez" brand. Good roasted, coffee/chocolatey taste.
This 5 pack was bought on November 2009 from Rio Janeiro. Cigars are smooth, peppery and have very peculiar fruity or aniseed like aftertaste. I like them.
Warning: Pics are large and host can pop NSFW adds if your browser doesn't block them
Edit: I have another 5 robusto box from February...
I have smoked all of those marcas (different sizes) and I like all of them
I'm looking for a smoke for those situations when you can spend at least 2 hours with a cigar.
So far Sir Winstons have received most votes. I would have bought them already if they were little cheaper. Sir Winnies cost about 30-40% more than RyJ or SLR churchills. Maybe they are that much better?
I have few options. I have tasted all of the above marcas but not all those vitolas. Looking for a box that ages well but is smokable already after 2-3 years of aging.
Edit: Oh, I see. That's what "public poll" means. I wouldn't have made it that way, if I knew. Well, live and learn.
^^^This helps. Thanks. So, basically you can't tell from embossing or lack of it, if it's 2006 or 2009? I'm not selling on trading those Montes, I just like to know which one to smoke first. I know I have genuine Cubans.
I have several Montes (regular line) bought as singles with different bands, some cigars with embossed and some without embossing. I'm trying to guess which of them are the oldest. Cuban cigar website tells about current (2006) band that Early bands & special releases embossed - later bands not...
