I believe age plays a huge roll in th Opus family. The Fuente Fuente is one of my favorites. I have some form each of the last 7 years and the older they are the better they are! You were fortunate to try one with some age.

I had forgot about the green box thing. My box is more like a dark brown. I think that the green turns brown after so many years. I am pretty sure I read something of the sort at the time I was purchasing the box.

It even looks very similar to my box from the '70's. I have 21 left in my box. Smoked one a few nights ago and it was very good. Tasted of cedar, wood, leather and exotic spice! :D

If you remove the cello you will change the way they age. Short term, no problem. Long term, they will taste different than the ones left in cello. JMHO. :D
