    Looking For A New Laptop

Hello everyone,   I am searching for a new laptop.  I currently have a Dell XPS which has been a royal POS since I bought it (constantly over heats and shuts down, screen is cracked, etc).  While I am not adverse to a new Dell (I bought this XPS in 2009), I hightly doubt Dell has turned around...

    Whisky Exchange - Contact

Good point. I tried yesterday. Wasn't thinking about Boxing Day. I'll see if I get a response by tomorrow. I haven't checked Royal Mile yet...It's a pretty old bottle of cognac, but I'll see what they have available. Jamie

    Whisky Exchange - Contact

Has anyone had any issues getting a response from the Whisky Exchange? There is a bottle of cognac I am interested in, however, I'd like to know a bit more about it. I contacted them via e-mail (I think to their London store as well as corporate) and received no response. Just curious if...

So I hit a local "Pot of Gold"

Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout is my go-to beer. While there are 100's of craft beers available; this is one that I will always come back to. I love it.

If you're happy at one job, what percentage....

All things being equal, it generally doesn't make sense to make a move for less than a 10% increase in pay.

    Rum Dum Dum

What I mean by "pure" rum is that nothing has been added to the spirit. Generally your sweeter rums have different additives, sweeteners, and other flavorings.

    Rum Dum Dum

Zaya is a good rum, no doubt, but make no mistake, it is not a pure rum. However, for your first journey in to rum, you couldn't have picked a better one. If you get a chance, try the El Dorado 12 year old rum. One of my all time favorites is Doorly's XO. It contains rum from 6 to 12 years...

Whats in your glass right now?

While Ron Zacapa, Zaya, etc are good, if you get a chance, try an Appleton (12 YO), El Dorado (12 YO), or RL Seales (10 YO) rum.

    The Glenmorangie 10 yo Scotch

I too picked up a few bottles of this, though a few weeks back. Mine came with the sample bottle of Quinta Ruban. The Glenmorangie 10 YO is a great introductory whisky for those that have never tried.

    Changes for Johnnie Walker

I never was a fan of the Gold. Might as well chew on an old piece of wood. Honestly, I much prefer the Black over any of the JW products. Blue is nothing to write home about...unless you are in to buying something mediocre just for the cost of it.

    The Walking Dead on AMC

If you recall in the first season, Daryl shot a deer and before he tracked it down, a zombie began eating it. The group dispatched the zombie before it could eat the entire deer. At no time did the deer get up...then again, the deer may have already been dead before the zombie got to it. The...

    The Walking Dead on AMC

Glad to finally see Dale gone. I just wish that zombie would have taken out Carl too.

    The Day the Music Died...

My aunt was with Ritchie's brother Bob. I don't think they were married. If you seen the movie La Bamba, she is Rosie.

Johnny Walker Double Black Limited Edition~

Total Wine has been hit or miss with me. I've noticed with the rums that slowly but surely the better bottles such as El Dorado are being replaced by the lower end bottles that I am assuming TW pushes. Glad to hear you enjoyed the Nectar D'or

Johnny Walker Double Black Limited Edition~

How did this end up going? Wife wanted to go to the Gem and Mineral Show, so that is where we spent the afternoon. I did have an Abraham Bowman 18 year bourbon waiting for me at the FedEx however.

Johnny Walker Double Black Limited Edition~

What exactly do you consider peaty and smoky (flavor wise)? Some people consider the "peaty" flavor to be an iodine, medicinal/hospital aroma. Smoky, is a bit more difficult to define, however I am intrigued.

Something to celebrate a big event...

You are probably right. While my friends have refined tastes, it's a lot of money to spend on a bottle. How many diapers would that buy?
