A lot of people stick their nose up at the Captain. It isn't top shelf nor does it pretend to be. I enjoy Captain and Coke. Private Stock to me is a really good simple tasting rum that I come back to all the time after having Appleton or El Dorado, etc. If you know someone that has never had...
I love Barbancourt 15. Have you tried the 5 star (aged 8 years)? Barbancourt is not what some typically think of when they think "rum." It is more closely related to an agricole type rum (or rhum) from Martinique. It's distillation process lends some cognac like qualities.
That being said...
Does anyone know where there might be a bottle of El Dorado 25 YO rum floating around? I was going to pick one up from an online store here in the US, but it sold out before I got the funds together. All I've found thus far are located in Europe. I spoke to another online store and they said...
That all depends on the type of radiation they might be exposed to. From my understanding, the decay isotopes from this type of fuel being used release mainly alpha particles. Alpha particles are dangerous if inhaled, but are more manageable than gamma radiation. That isn't to say that gamma...
Alternative solutions as opposed to the current solutions? There simply is not enough domestic oil to offset the amount we use daily. Granted, any helps, but I am against using oil for transportation when we should be using it for the military, aviation, and petrochemicals.
Alternative energy...
Indeed. I miss my old Chevy truck, but I definitely don't miss the 11 mpg it was getting. I used it for everything, but in the end, buying a smaller car made sense.
The public is pretty short sighted. I remember after the bottom fell out in the economy, and with it, the price of gas. It...
I don't know about that. A lot of the price for diesel comes from the more stringent diesel sulfur standards which increases refining costs. It wasn't that way until recently. From what I understand, the Federal excise tax on diesel is also more than gasoline. Also, with diesel, it really is...
This is the new reality. There isn't enough domestic oil supply to make a dent in oil imports. People talk about the billions of barrels of oil in this field or that. It's a drop in the bucket when you consume 20.7 million barrels a day. Besides, oil is a global commodity. We get most of...
Rum is good...It's as varied as any other liquor out there. Try it some time. You might like it....just stay away from the usual suspects like Bacardi (except their 8 yo rum, which is rather good).
It's nice when you are able to talk yourself in to these types of purchases no? ;) I just did it recently when I picked up a bottle each of English Harbour 25 YO and 10 YO rums.
Tonight I had a Konda Brewing Pipeline Porter followed by a Ten Fidy Imperial Stout. Not the exotic things some of you are able to get, but pretty good.
