Hey Coxy.
The majority of humidors on the market are of acceptable quality. I believe a large quantity of them, found on the usual suspects (ebay, amazon, cheap humidors, bargain humidors, etc.) are produced by the same company. All have acceptable seals. What it really comes down to is size...
Not necessarily. There is actually the possibility that the increase in capital reserves may increase productions levels or quality. Unless provided evidence to the contrary, I don't see anything other than "wait and see," as being a fair response.
Ha! I can at least attest to Lamborghini...
On a somewhat tangential point, I've heard that product from Cuba already makes its way to the other islands and that intermixing is already occurring. Comes from an industry insider, but take it with a grain of salt.
Sounds like an interesting experiment, but ultimately not worth the risk. I have collected cigars and have some from 1997 (I used to have one from 1974!). The idea of using anything less than calibrated (via boveda pack) digital hygrometers and beads terrifies me. This could be a great way to...
Thank you for the in-depth response. I will vacuum my humidor shortly as per your recommendations. Hopefully that will be the end of it. I am NOT looking to place all 300 sticks in the freezer.

I used to be there regularly on Fridays and most Taco Tuesdays. Not so much lately after my work schedule has changed. If you want to go during Taco Tues and not stand around, I advise that you may want to come earlier and grab one of the sofas in there before it gets too crowded. I might...
I believe it is one thing to have forum rules and expectations. I think it's a completely different thing when people are overly-eager to swat newcomers for failing to meet them. That's inevitably followed by the - not really all that funny - inside jokes that come at the expense of the...
About once a year, I find a small critter meandering about in my humidor. In each instance, it occurred exclusively in the Cuban section of my humidor. That said, I've have yet to find a single cigar in my humidor with those small round holes that beetles create. My room can get pretty hot...
The advice given here is good. A lot of the question depends on what you're going for. Space, style, etc. Just remember the one key rule: bigger is better. If you've come this far, you're going to need a larger gun.
