How do you keep track of cigars?

I’m working on something similar. For now I’m marking each intact box with approximate current value. It’s bananas. Always knew they were a fine investment but never saw this coming. It’s possible the biggest chunk of change I leave my daughter will be from my humidor.

Love a good vertical. I should do these again. Too much fun.

What SMOKING music are you listening to? (2026)

TFT - absolute classics from my youth. Mid 70s Aerosmith was my favorite band for a few years. Then Van Halen I came out.

Is there a V-Cutter you prefer to Xikar?

Yeah you guys are right. Why mess with a good thing. I’ll just get another Xikar. Thanks all! @MX - that cutter is tempting Tim! Thanks for the tip. @George Scott - I have that nifty punch but have not tried it yet. I’m just not a punch guy but maybe I’ll try punching again.

    Cigar of the month

‘19 Romeo y Julieta Grand Churchills 7 1/2 X 56 Beast! (from special release humidor celebrating the 20th Habanos Festival) - can already declare this my cigar of the year. Talk about anticlimactic. Cold draw cherry bark & almonds - first few draws tastes like a 15-20 year old at least -...

    Today's Smoke 2026

‘01 CCE - Started a little slow but got better and better right to the end. Love when this happens. Cream, honey, sweet grass, cantaloupe - smooth, rich, succulent - DIVINE! 1:45

Is there a V-Cutter you prefer to Xikar?

After 11 years & thousands of cigars I think my Xikar is spent. The blades are dull & I’ve cracked the head of several cigars recently which really sucks. This is my favorite cutter by far and I use it almost exclusively. Have tried a couple others and they cut too deep for my preference. Any...

    F1 Fantasy League 2026

I’m gonna pass this year. Not gonna be able to watch the races and not reliable to send winnings on time. Best of luck to all the players this year and thanks for hosting @modo22 !

    Today's Smoke 2026

‘05 Hamlet Salomones - head cracked upon cut dammit. Think I need a new v-cutter. Blades are getting dull. Sweet baking spices, passive aromas burnt sugar. Rich, succulent, decadent. 1:45

    Today's Smoke 2026

July ‘01 VRDA - significant box press - sugar, spice & everything nice - gawd I love these. Vegas Robainas has made some great cigars but for my money these are the best. The Clasicos, Familiar & thankfully still rolled Unicos are all wonderful but the Don Alejandro is in a class by itself. Even...

What SMOKING music are you listening to? (2026)

Eric Johnson is another of my favorites. Have seen him many times including a couple times up close. He’s up there for sure. As a guitar aficionado I’ve been very lucky (and at times a bit creative) to stand just a few feet away from most of my guitar heroes watching their magical playing. One...

    Today's Smoke 2026

‘03 SC El Principe - didn’t much care for these young. With significant age these rival Siglo I, Reyes & even Punch Petit Punch which were my original favorite short smokes. These are now intoxicating - passive aromas biscuits & maple syrup. Retro cream & honey. Incredibly rich & creamy full...

What SMOKING music are you listening to? (2026)

Saw him live recently. Only Satriani & Yngwie impressed me more technically speaking. There are some bonkers players out there under the radar though. The guys from Cynic & This Will Destroy You as examples. Seen them all up close and made me feel pretty bad about my guitar playing ability 😅
